“Excellent Service, Big Rooms, Great Place”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

Absolutely loved our stay at the Heritage hotel. Has a spa, sauna and swimming pool for those days where you just want to relax and the hotel itself is gorgeous. The room we stayed in was a 2x double bed room and was very spacious - nice big room for three. There is a guest laundry so you can do all your washing and drying for only $2 and the washing liquid is free. The only let down was the breakfast. Not the best of foods. (Look at the breakfast Rydges Wellington provides - absolutely delicious). Overall loved the hotel and would definitely recommend to others! Yes it is just out of queenstown city but would only take you a 5-10mins walk to city centre and there is a hill on the way back, but the view is to die for so dont let it put you off at all!!

Excellent service, reception staff went out of their way to be helpful. Room facing swimming pool can be noisy so if you want peace make sure they give you a room facing the lake. Limited covered parking on the site but plenty across the road. Our room had been upgraded in recent times and very tastefully furnished. Got this room on Wotif so it was excellent value.

Rooms are a good size but are not well ventilated and were very stuffy hot even though it was cold outside. Our room had a very overpowering chemical horribly sweet bubblegum smell (some kind of cleaning product or air freshener?) which we couldn't get rid of even with the windows wide open.
Pillows were huge - high and uncomfy and after ringing reception to request a thin pillow the concierge arrived with another the same size and said that there were no thinner ones.
The buffet breakfast here was great - one of the best in QT.
Staff were very friendly. However would not stay again as memory of stay is still haunted by that horrible sweet smell in the room and uncomfy pillow.

Room Tip: Ask for one with airconditioning.

Dear Only okay

Thank you for providing feedback following your recent stay. Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience and frustration caused. We very much appreciate this feedback as it allows us the opportunity to continually review and improve our service and facility.

Unfortunately your stay was during an unseasonal hot period for Queenstown. We do have a small number of fans which are made available to guests during hot periods; please accept my sincere apologies if one was not made available to you or if you were not made aware of the accessibility of fans during your stay.

In addressing the issue with the air freshener, I have forwarded your comments to the Executive Housekeeper and, as a result, a review on the products and how we use them is currently underway.

I am happy to hear that the staff were friendly during your stay and hope you were able to enjoy what Queenstown has to offer.

Would definitely stay again next ski season
The $5 return pass for the bus was very convienent

We spent three nights at the Heritage Hotel in early December, booking a few days before arrival on Expedia.com. Great value at $108 per night for a large, spacious room. I felt a little indifferent about this hotel. The furniture in the room was a bit tatty, the carpet dirty and along with the yellow colour in the main areas made the whole complex feel like a retirement home. The TV was what I can only describe as a dinosaur. The hotel is currently undergoing a renovation so hopefully it makes it a little more modern and fresh. Staff were really helpful and pleasant.

Room Tip: Request a room in the block overlooking the pool or the lake. The one facing the reception area and...

I am pleased to advise that we have now completed a refurbishment on two of the three hotel accommodation wings, in which the furniture and televisions were upgraded. The third wing is due to commence in early April.

I am pleased to hear that the staff were pleasant and helpful and I hope that you enjoyed your time here in Queenstown. I hope to welcome you back in the near future.

We had two rooms on the 3rd floor of the Waterfall Wing right adjacent to Fern Hill Road and as a result were kept awake by the very busy traffic. No airconditioning meant the room was stuffy & because of the road noise we were not able to leave the doors to the balcony open. Restaurant food very tasty, breakfast enjoyable, staff very friendly & helpful. Check pricing as can be expensive.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the Lake & away from the busy road.
