“A good place to stay”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

A clean tidy room with a very nice view over the lake. Some parts of the hotel are still to be refurbished and it would be easy to get lost finding your room, but for the price we paid it was good value for money and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the lake. The view is beautiful.

We were thrilled when we opened the door to our room and were confronted by an amazing view over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkable Mountains! The room was spacious and the bathroom clean and spacious too. The staff were very friendly and helpful and daily breakfast was an added bonus. The facilities were clean and tidy but some of the rooms and passages, lifts etc are due for refurbishment. It's an easy walk to Queenstown town centre - the walk back requires more opf an effort to ascend the steep hills though. Fabulous scenery and so many activities to do it's hard to choose!

Room Tip: A room with a view is the way to go.

I booked a standard double room under the 'moments to treasure' package which included breakfast. We were delighted to find ourselves upgraded to a very modern and spacious room (suite really), with absolutely spectacular views of the lake and the Remarkables. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Special thanks to Marina who helped with our booking and was able to accommodate both kids. Daily breakfast was an added bonus. The facilities were clean, although clearly, some of the rooms and passages, lifts etc are due for refurb. Parking was extra. Easy walk to town & Queenstown is stunning - everyone should try to get there! I would be most happy to recommend and would certainly stay again at a similar tariff

Room Tip: ask for a reburbished room with a lake view

It's a good place, but ya surely hotel needs a re innovation as infrastructure is outdated right from reception till room. But great lake view rooms, walkable distance to the market. Food menu does not have any vegetarian stuff same with breakfast, so we hardly had our food in it. Few staff at reception are really helpful.

This hotel is a bit dated but it's a 5min walk to town and if you have a lake room it is amazing to wake up to! We chose not to book any activities through the hotel (although there are many on offer) as the hotel staff could give advice but actually we felt it was better to speak to the companies. Our room was cleaned every day and we felt really comfortable there
We did not have the breakfast as there are so many great cafes in Queenstown it's better to get out there and try them!
My only advice would be to get a lake room.

We had a lovely lake view room..yes a bit dated but perfectly fine. We found all the staff very helpful. We thought the breakfast was fine, thoughit could get boringt but we were only there for three days. My biggest complaint was finding our way to our room? we had to catch a series of lifts and negotiate a number of passages which all looked the same....hence the helpful staff came in for direction!! at one point we had three half naked guys tagging on behind us (they had just been to the spa) hoping we knew where we was going... some hope.!!

Awesome stay! Nice roomy hotel rooms they are a good size, lots of room! Wasnt in a lakeview but i didnt really mind not having one! Has spa pools which is great! Great staff! Good location 10 minute walk to town! No valet parking service but that is ok! No wifi throughout hotel! Only other thing would be can very easily get lost, it is a bit hard to find your way around! Apart from that great and great rates as well!
