“Best views”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

This was a very difficult hike for a day trip from a city. It is quite steep but the views are definitely worthwhile. If you are not used to tramping, expect this will take the full amount of time estimated.

“Good walk”
Reviewed January 3, 2013 via mobile

Come down via one mile. Worth the extra, even when you are tired from the day hike.
It can be cold at the top, even in summer so make sure you have some warm and wind proof clothing.

“A great hike with stunning views”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

I'll admit I cheated a little and took the Gondola the first part up...since I had already done the Tiki trail earlier. Anyway, the hike up to the top of Ben Lomond is quite impressive. You'll get amazing views even before you get to the top. The hike up to the saddle isn't too bad and only requires relatively moderate fitness, however the last section to the peak requires a decent level of fitness.

You should definitely carry water, food, appropriate clothing (be prepared for gusty winds/rain) and I wouldn't try this hike in the winter unless you are a skilled climber.

“NO TOUR”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

OK, i didnt do the tour but i walked up Ben Lomond.. all i can say is dont treat this as your average walk in the park, it is a MOUNTAIN. Dress appropriately, take plenty of food and wear suitable footwear.
