Pros were very well priced room with an amazing breakfast (both food and staff contributed to this). Only cons were overpriced wifi and after a day out we came back to the room to discover that our bathroom door had locked itself from the inside and we required maintenance to fix this.

My partner and I stayed for one night at Kawarau Hotel, managed by Hilton and found the hotel to be very stylish and modern. we got a great price online and then got an upgrade on the room when we arrived. The receptionist was very friendly, and we had a great walk round the lake on the nearby track.

You pay motel price (or less than average motel price even) and you get Hilton quality - What else can I say. As someone already mentioned this is easily 4.5 stars quality with a price tag of under hundred (and that's nzd not usd). As for location, it really works both ways. some people don't like the fact that this is a few kilometres away from town centre but i would pay money to not live with the crowd and noise in town. i find the location perfect and the water taxis are probably an interesting experience in itself. Yes the Internet is expensive, but I can live without it - there are other ways to get Internet cheaper. Besides, Wo needs so much Internet when there are a whole lotta activities out there in a beautiful town like this?

My partner and I stayed at the Kawarau Hotel at the end of January for two nights. I booked a great deal months before and was expecting a decent stay based on the reviews I had read. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very attractively remodeled hotel. From the lobby to the room, this hotel was very nice, stylish and clean. The parking garage was convenient and easy to access from the room and lobby. The water taxi to Queenstown was a great bonus, allowing us to enjoy a few drinks in town and not drive. The ride was scenic and pleasant. We did not eat or drinking at the restaurants, but we did grab breakfast on the go at the small shop, which was convenient. Overall, excellent stay at this hotel!

Room Tip: We did not request a room type, but were at the end of the corridor, which meant that the room was a...

£60 per night or roughly $90. We didn't have breakfast or meals included.

Hotel was brilliant and very classy. Rooms were incredible and if you are lucky enough to get a good view it makes it that little bit better!

Bedroom was the best part of the room - biggest bed I've ever slept in.

There are some good tracks near the hotel which were good for running on if you're into that!

Bad point was that it was far away from Queenstown - It was at the opposite side of the lake. Quickest was to get there was a taxi but it's ridiculously expensive. Bus is the cheapest way to get there but if you're getting a return the buses don't run very late at night. Water taxi is another option but it's $15 NZD for a return. Last return is 10pm so you can't stay there too late.

Also note that there aren't any grocery stores near the hotel, you have to bring stuff back from queenstown. There is a cafe beside the hotel which has some stuff in the fridge but literally all they sell is juice, milk and bread.. and cereal.

4/5, still a brilliant hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback from your recent stay at the Kawarau Hotel.

I was pleased to see you enjoyed yourselves. There is a small shopping center with a supermarket situated between the airport and the hotel. A 5 minute car ride or 15 minute walk.
our Lake Counter Deli has a full selection of foods including fruits, vegetables, eggs and dried goods.

Thank you again and I do hope you have the opportunity to visit us again sometime in the near future.
