Stayed in female dorm (Shona's room) and was surprised to see the facilities available. Nice comfortable bed, ensuite shower with all toiletries provided, TV, DVD player, air-con "big lockers" on the bottom of the bed where you can store your luggage. I love how the room was designed. Seems like the common facilities like kitchen, computers, lounge, are nice though I didn't spend too much time hanging out there. Laundry service was great, I didn't mind paying more since they made sure all your clothes is dry and ready. Easily one of the best place I stayed in during my NZ trip, and it was surprisingly quiet :-)

This place is advertised as the best hostel in Queenstown and it quite clearly is (not that I've stayed in any others but as far as hostels go I've not stayed in better anywhere).

We stayed in a four bed mixed dorm. When we arrived the person at reception got us checked in and we were given little name tags to stick on the side of our bed. Another member of staff then gave us a tour of the hostel and showed us to our room. These staff and all others were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The room itself was excellent. Wooden bunks (no noise from them) each with a plug, little pouch on the wall for valuables, reading light, linen and towel. There was also a draw for each persons bag. The room has a door onto the balcony. Only minor thing was that the light on my bed was low on batteries but didn't cause a problem.

Shared bathrooms were excellent. Lots of showers and toilets available. All very modern facilities. Shower water power was good.

There were lots of leaflets and we booked some trips via reception. Very good service.

This is a nice sociable hostel. We had a sunday roast which was really cheap and really lush. We also did the quiz night which was fun.

Freebies - we didn't use many of them but they have ipads, calls home, computers, hair dryers, go pros....and probably many more I can't remember.

Overall a really good stay.

Thanks for the great review! Just a short note on the reading lights: we always had spare batteries on hand if we were informed the current ones were going flat. That said, at the end of May/start of June, we replaced all the reading lights with ones which are now powered from the mains electricity, so this will no longer be problem! Thanks again for the kind words!

Well it's definitely the best hostel in Queenstown!

We stayed in a four-bed share room for more than eight days, we didn't want to leave!!

- Where to begin...well, you get free wi-fi, free iPad usage, free go-pro camera hire, free desktop computer usage, free tea and coffee, free frisbee use, free hair straighteners for the ladies, free towel use and free telephone calls home.
- Is that not enough? Well the bedrooms are all excellently designed, with solid beds made from wood, a great A/C/heater unit, a big mirror and your own individual electrical socket and reading light
- Want more? The location is excellent, right smack in the middle of Queenstown
- I'll keep going. The staff are all excellent, and the manager (Brett) is a seasoned traveller who'll give you a huge amount of advice
- Brett'll also cook you a massive roast dinner on Sunday night for a small fee. It's incredible!!
- There's a massive lounge with a big screen TV and loads of DVDs/Blu-Rays to watch, and it's BYOB
- And if you're still not convinced? For a small fee, they'll even do your laundry FOR YOU! Ha!

I could go on. This place deserves it's glowing reputation. It's especially amazing that it costs the same amount as other hostels in Queenstown.

One bit of advice? Book in advance. Because once you're there, you won't want to leave!

Room Tip: The dorm rooms are great

Staff are really friendly and helpful and warm and all that other stuff that makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Perfect location. Amenities and communal areas are better than you would find in most ritzy hotels (not exaggerating). Wouldn't even consider staying somewhere else next time we come to Queenstown. BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE!

I personally stayed in the girl's room which was super comfy, super clean and had loads of free stuff. The main room was really nice and provided enough space for everyone to meet up in the evening. They also have a modern kitchen with plenty of space to cook and eat.The staff was very welcoming and helpful as well as they booked all my activities. More like a 4 star hotel than a hostel really ! Will be back !

What a cool little hostel. The views were sick-- lake and mountain views from the bedroom and bathroom. Very cute decorating and comfy beds with individual outlets. Good vibes, good atmosphere, good location. Definitely recommend staying here for your first stay in Queenstown. Stayed in an all girl's room and they have free nail polish and hair stuff in the bathroom, I didn't use, but a cool bonus.
