Perfect laid back activity for those Queenstown visitors not so into adrenalin. The route was mostly downhill, the scenery farmland with mountain backdrops and the three vineyards visited were different enough in character and flavour to warrant the comparison. Lunch was simple but perfect. Bring water and credit card. Mt. Rosa winery can "ship" to Australia for $10, others not so much.

We did the cycle de vine tour with Fat Tyre Adventures and had a blast. It was a lovely day riding through beautiful scenery and tasting delicious wines. Our guide, Ryan, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and was very patient with us when we had to walk up a hill after a few too many yummy wines. All in all it was a great day and I would highly recommend to anyone!

Two of us were travelling to Queenstown and were keen to Heli-bike the Roaring Meg. I emailed Fat Tyre three months prior and had us pencilled in pending weather and more rides to fill the helicopter. A few days out we received an email explaining the trip could not go ahead because there was still to much snow. This turned out to be a lie. On the day we were to ride he sent a group up without us and had sent a group earlier in the week. Speaking to Greg again, we were told all trips were now booked out. Luckily, we found Jono from Queenstown Bike Taxis who could drive us to within 10 minutes downhill riding from the start of the Roaring Meg. So after hiring some great bikes from Vertigo we were back within 5 hours. Riding time 2.5 hours. All this at a third of the cost. Roaring Meg is a great mountain bike ride in visually stunning back country which was clearly marked and had NO SNOW. Unfortunately, there is some significant bike hiking in the single track section. I recommend save your money, get better bikes and taxi to and from the Roaring Meg

Hi,
It is a shame you the weather was so bad that it had snowed and we could not get to the landing spot for the Roaring Meg Heli bike- but it if fantastic that you were able to get to the lower altitude pedal in option that we do not offer. Nature is un controllable and we can only work with what we are given. Cheers Greg @ Fat Tyre

what started as a very scary 30th present turned out to be the most awesome adventure. brilliant helicopter ride and stunning scenery the whole way down. My partner and i were pretty unfit so there were a few hills that we walked up, but other then that a sensational ride!
absolutely amazing day and i would recommend it to everyone.

One of our favourite activities. Great heli ride, fab weather so views amazing, guide Greg was relaxed but informative. Ride was exhausting for us who are relatively inexperienced in track biking, but we loved it!
