“Professional staff ensure safe thrills”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

If you're shy about bunjy jumping, but still want a great outdoor experience, try this. Ride the gondola or walk to the top of the mountain, and ride all 6 zip lines down to the bottom. Great guided nature tours and charming walks through the forest compliment the thrill of zipping from treehouse to treehouse. The excellent staff make you feel completely secure and confident about the rides. And they have a good message about sustainability to boot.

I couldn't have summed Ziptrek Ecotours up better myself! So happy to hear you enjoyed our Kea 6-line tour so much and that our outstanding guides made you feel so safe. If you wanted to find out more about the fantastic work the micro-loan organisation your guides talked to you about on your tour does then head to Kiva.org. Hopefully see you again in the future.
Kind regards,
Bonnie

“Feel The Wind In Your Hair”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

My 3 friends and I did the 4 line tour with the guides Connie and Jakob.

Ziptrek is great! The guides are super friendly and informative and the setup of everything is really cool. The views as you are zip-lining are fantastic and the whole experience just gives you a rush.
At the end of this one there is a 10min walk uphill but a little exercise never hurt anyone.

If your looking a for an exhilarating though calm activity, Ziptrek is great!

Maybe we should offer our services to a shampoo commercial- I can just imagine someone zipping along with their hair looking like they're standing in front of a wind machine! Glad to hear you enjoyed the Moa 4-line tour so much. Next time you will have to definitely try the Kea 6-line which brings you all the way from the top of the gondola to the base!
Cheers,
Bonnie

“Great Zip Experience!”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

My wife and I took the 6 line tour with Zip Trek on November 23. We have been ziplining many times in St Maarten, Costa Rica and Hawaii. Our guides were Charles and Connie.

This was a different zip line setup than others we have done. The lines are all managed breaking-in other words the guide on the other end does all the braking for you and you don't have to worry about flying into a tree! The equipment was also a bit different-as mentioned by others was a very safe harness rather than just a seat. The treehouses were very well built. All in all, everything seemed to be state of the art.

Our guides were excellent. Very personable and committed to doing everything they could to assure that everyone had a great time. The 6 line tour actually does take three hours due to the time needed to hook and unhook everyone. (Our group had 10 people.)

One interesting aspect was that they spent time at each stop to discuss ecological issues and what Zip Trek is doing to contribute. This was interesting and informative.

They also encouraged/taught everyone to get out of their comfort zone by showing us how to go upside down, then upside down with no hands! Virtually everyone in our group did it and had a blast! But those that did not have the nerve were not made fun of either.

The last line was billed as the steepest tree to tree zip line in the world and it may be. Essentially a 30 story drop from start to finish. Surprisingly, while it was great fun, it was not as scary as it sounds.

The group of people we were teamed up with were great and our guides were great. End result: a great excursion! One we would highly recommend.

Several tips:
1. Take the 6 line trip rather than the 4 line. The last two lines are worth the extra money.
2. If you book far enough ahead you can get the "off peak" price which will save you $30 per person. I believe the off peak times are 10am and 10:20am.
3. If you are thinking about taking the gondola in Queenstown, don't do it as a separate trip. You have to take the gondola up to the Zip Trek site so go up early and take your pictures, go hang gliding, etc before the tour. Otherwise you end up paying twice for the gondola since you have to pay extra for the gondola to take the zip line anyway.

“Amazing experience”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

I was somewhat apprehensive about this as I have quite a bad fear of heights. But I found this to be an amazing experience and by the end of the 2nd line I was really starting to enjoy it.
The guides (Jock and Gazza) were great and did a brilliant job of engaging you just before you were about to zip to distract you from any fears.
The views were amazing!!!!
