Owner description: Ziptrek Ecotours is NZ's #1 Original Zipline tour and is a spectacular eco-adventure through the forest canopy high above Queenstown, situated on Skyline Gondola hill. Ziptrek runs all year round and is stunning whatever the weather. With two tours to choose from it is suitable for everyone, whether looking for an introduction into Queenstown adventure (Moa 4-Line Tour) or wanting the latest gripping eco-exhilaration (Kea 6-Line Tour) which includes the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world.
Useful Information: Activities for older children

Had a really good time on the 6 line zip trek. The guides (Rich & Henriques) were great & made the experience a lot of fun. The adventure level is not over the top yet enough to know you're alive. It's a great experience.

We were a family group ranging in age from 7 to 60 plus years old, grandchildren to grandparents.
Everyone thought it was a great experience and the guides were fantastic and informative.
A great alternative to the other extreme activities in Queenstown.

We as a group of young friends went on the 6-line tour. Honestly, we were excited for this as it was to the end our our stay in Queenstown but walked away disappointed.

The good: the final 'fast' zip-line was fun; changing the way you positioned yourself as you went down as good; the staff were friendly.

The bad: it's expensive for what it is; the 'eco' portion of this 'tour' felt very tacked on and shallow; apart from the final of the 6 line we took, everything else was very tame (if you've been on a zipline at camp, you've already experienced the thrill); the views are not as they appear in the picture as you are flying the majority of the time in dense forest.

Alternatives: I'd suggest just going on the Shotover Jet which I had passed over for this. It seems like a lot of the positive reviews are from family, and yes, younger children will find this fun. But for anyone around the age of 18 to 30, you'd definitely rather doing the multitude of other activities available in Queenstown.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, without feedback we would be unable to further improve our product. We understand that everyone's definition of adrenalin is different and I'm glad that line 6 of our Kea 6-line tour lived up to yours. As I am sure you are well aware Queenstown is known as The Adventure Capital of the World, while we definitely consider ourselves to be both a challenging and fun experience, we are not the most adrenalin inducing product out there. The 18-30 age group makes up a very large component of our guest mix and our tours are extremely popular with that demographic for a number of different reasons.

We take great pride in the interpretative-eco component of our tours and I'm disappointed that you did not find this as free-flowing and a fully integrated part of our tours as we aim for. Our entire operation is based on sustainable practice and we use The Natural Step as a basis for this and find that even the most sustainable savvy come away with something from this. For us the eco-interpretation is just as an important part of the tour as the ziplines because without one or the other, neither would exist.

Our ziplines run tree-to-tree and provide unique views of the surrounding forest as well as the amazing vista's of the Lake and mountains. Again we truly appreciate your feedback as well as the fact that not every activity is for everyone's tastes. We do hope the overall flavour of Queenstown left a sweet taste on your tongue!

No matter what age you are and who you are, you can have great fun. I have been on tour with one of the youngest and one of the oldest representatives of human race and we all had a great time. It is a great alternative for those who are not fond of extreme outdoor activities.
And it is not only about having fun, there is a deeper sense of purpose in it (eco-conscioussness) and I really appreciate it.
The guides were great, it is all perfectly safe and I definitely want to come back to do it again, next time have a slide upside down! :)
