the first thing we did once we got to Queenstown was the walter peak farm and dinner. The cruise on the T.S. Earnslaw across the lake is beautiful and watching the workers actually put coal in the furnace to run it was quite an experience to watch.

Once at the farm, we were directed to a room in the back, as we were having a sit-down dinner and not the buffet, as most people do. It was one big table for all of the people that weren't dining buffet-style, so we got to meet people from different places during dinner. There was about 10 or 12 people at the table. We even found out that one of the couples was going to be on the same milford sound tour that we were doing the next day.

The food was pretty good and after we ate, we were told that there was a sheep-shearing demonstration out in the barn/shed, so we went over and watched. I am an animal lover so I am always hesitant to see anything with animals, but I quickly learned that sheep-shearing is not cruel or anything....and the farmer was very funny.

The cruise back was beautiful, as the sun had gone down and it was quite chilly. Many of the people were having a sing-along by the piano, though we didn't partake.

It was a nice, mellow evening and we were glad we did it.
