The all-morning walk on the bridle path through the forests along the lake's hillside was rich with variety. Guide Peter had first kindly checked to be sure it was ok with me to be the only one on the walk & generous to take me when no one else had registered. I was lucky he tailored the pace & information so perfectly for me. At 74, I felt safe on the path with my hiking boots, the walking stick he provided, & his careful attention. He taught me flora & fauna, helped with photos, & even called birds to us! The break for morning tea & snack when we came to a little beach was delightful. His lovely wife was waiting at the end of the trail. They think of everything!

My partner and i had a great time on the walk - we are keen snowboarders and while it was unusual to not be sliding down the mountain, we found the snow shoeing a great end-of-season alternative!! Walking on a frozen lake and having tea and coffee in the snow was great! The guide was knowledgable and catered for everyones individual needs.

Would highly recommend to tourists and kiwis alike!

We did the half day Lakeshore, Forest & Bird walk with Karyn. It was a wonderful walk through the native forest with the lake shore always not far. The views across the lake were marvelous and the forest was spectacular.

The walk is not step, so old and young alike would cope just fine. Karyn's pace was more of a leisurely stroll, so again this walk would be suitable for people of all fitness levels.

Karyn obviously is a wealth of knowledge about the local plants and birds. Her informative commentary demonstrated her passion for the local area and its flora & fauna.

We had a wonderful morning walk and would truly recommend this to all our friends.

We enjoyed a wonderful day with Pete on our nature hike in the forest area near Queenstown. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Pete shares his extensive knowledge with ease and humor. The lakeside picnic lunch was delicious and the vistas absolutely awe inspiring. We would highly suggest anyone seeking a truly special experience to make plans for a trek with Guided Walks New Zealand.
