I have always loved this restaurant. Truly the best restaurant in town. Food is outstanding as is the wine list. In fact the wine list is the most awarded in all of New Zealand.
We were seated in front of the fire. Started was a classic Carpaccio with olive oil, capers and pecorino cheese. Main course was wild Southland Venison wrapped in pancetta. One of the best meals I have ever had and coming from someone who dines out on a regular basis this is no small feat.
After dinner we adjourned to the library for coffee and after dinner drinks. Great atmosphere with plenty of classic wines on display.
We were staying nearby at Nugget Point so walked to the restaurant but as the restaurant is quite a distance from Queenstown it offers a free taxi from your accommodation and back.
You can't go wrong here and will not be disappointed. Fourth time for me here although it has been over 13 years since the last time. Still brilliant after all that time.
