An easy walk around the gardens. It can get very windy and cold in exposed areas. There is also a Disc golf course.

Beautiful rose garden with good views across Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables.
Only a short stroll along the lakefront from Queenstown centre

We chose to walk around the lake and cut through the gardens to avoid the winds and so glad we did. Everything was picture perfect. Will definitely be back.

The gardens are absolutely beautiful and a peaceful place for a sit down in nature. They are very well-kept, and there are plenty of benches and grass space. It's so nice to see groups of people having picnics or even work meetings in the park.
My favourite part about the gardens is the disc golf - the course is very well coordinated with a mix of difficulty for a fun game. It seems to be very popular, so it's clear to see that it's enjoyed by many others as well as myself.
I have spent hours and hours in these gardens watching the sunset, playing disc golf with friends, and taking a picnic lunch to sit in a little piece of paradise.

These gardens are a wonderful antidote to the busyness of the rest of Queenstown. Quiet, spacious, lovely walking and views of the lake. A good place to go when it all gets a bit much. And it's free, unlike most of the rest of this overrated tourist resort.....
