We stayed at the Amber Lodge in Queenstown in January 2009. We had a very spacious room, more like an apartment. Everything was spacious, lounge, kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and one of the two bedrooms had its own en-suite. The decor was a bit dated and the couches were about falling apart, you sink right through them... rather uncomfortable. For such an open & spacious suite/room, we found it hard to get a good air flow going through and it was very stuffy in the heat of summer, but had a big balcony where you could go for fresh air, though no outdoor seating on the balcony. It was the best location! Literally a 2 minute walk to the town, if even. It’s so handy to everything. I think if they added some outdoor furniture to the balcony, or put in air conditioning and got new couches it would be worth staying there again.
