staff attentive and friendly .good concierge service for external bookings. Make sure you book the shuttle bus to town as it only seats 11 persons.Be early or quick at breakfast as food is slow to be replenished. The "rooms" are 2/3 br apartments, fully equipped including washer and dryer. No need to take any utensils or cleaners as all are provided and serviced daily.. Beautiful views to the lake and the Remarkable mountains. Large external balcony. Buy a 7 day bus pass for street bus service which runs every 20 minutes. Take a Corporate Cab not a taxi.
A great bar to visit is Eichhardts in Queenstown. Excellent wines and tapas.

Room Tip: standard rooms on level 2 or 3 or 4 in middle block enjoy great views

The Non lake view room was automatically upgraded. The service is amazing. The bus stop is just outside the hotel which is very convenient. They have private jetty from where thunder jet (Ride ) leaves.

Room Tip: Rooms have a nice view of the lake... A walk down to the jetty is nice early morning

I have to agree with many of the others--the view from these apartments is jaw dropping. We were in a two bedroom on the fourth floor. The unit was spotlessly clean and very well outfitted. We had excellent service from the friendly staff. We rented bikes and rode the path below along the lake--it was a nice trail used by bikers, hikers and joggers. The hotel has plenty of bikes for rent.

Parking in the covered parking spaces is easy and spacious.

All in all, this hotel is a classy accommodation. I would definitely stay here if I am so fortunate as to be able to travel to Queenstown again. It was a great stay and thank you to the hotel staff and management.

Room Tip: The two bedrroms are great for a family.

We had a quick tiki tour of the south island and the Rees was the most luxurious and impressive place we stayed on our tour. Echo all the good comments - amazing views over the lake and to the Remarkables. Lovely facilities - great balcony ; perfect for a glass of wine as the sun was going down.

This is one of the best places we've stayed and we do a lot of international travel. The two bedroom apartment was modern and extremely comfortable. The views are to die for, over the lake with The Remarkables in the background. Service is brilliant, as soon as we pulled up in the car, we were greeted and taken to reception to check in and then escorted to our room to have everything explained. I can't remember a time in any hotel where we have received this service. The apartments are a little way (4 minute drive) out of the main town, but the hotel offers a mini bus shuttle service and there are plenty of taxis. I described this holiday as reaching Nirvana, and with two teenagers in tow, that's amazing in itself. Plenty to keep all occupied.

Room Tip: Definitely lake view and at least level 4. Request a balcony that has the sun in the evening.

Incredible accommodation. Greeted as soon as we pulled up, baggage immediately unloaded, simple check-in. Very friendly staff, the layout of the hotel explained to us, personally escorted to our room and WOW what a view - Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables. Our 2 bedroom apartment was immaculate and very well fitted out - underfloor heating, gas fire heater, very comfortable beds, kitchen perfectly fitted out down to the wine glasses. Hotel located just out of centre of Queenstown which posed no problem. Access to walking track right in front of hotel, no cost shuttle service easy and reliable. Wouldn't stay anywhere else! Still dreaming about the glorious view.
