What can I say? You pay for what you get that is for sure! We had decided we wanted one night in Queenstown in a luxury hotel just for the fun of it, and The Rees was the one picked, mainly because it had a spa in the room.
To be honest, while the spa was definitely a highlight, the room itself wasn’t all that more impressive then many of the other places we had stayed at on our trip. It was lovely, don’t get me wrong, and it was nice having a large TV, and underfloor heating in the bathroom (since it was winter), but the extra money got us other stuff which we definitely appreciate.
From a concierge who was happy to organise anything for us, to a valet who showed us where to park, carried our luggage and introduced us to all the technological features of the room, to an exclusive restaurant which would normally lighten the purse dramatically, but where a full cooked breakfast etc was FREE for us (and that was a surprise we hadn’t expected!)
Not cheap, not going to lie, but if you are wanting to spoil your other half for a night, would highly recommend The Rees as a place to stay. The view wasn’t bad either, looking over the lake to the other ‘town’ on the other side.More
