“Good location, plenty of space and comfortable”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

I stayed here for a couple of nights whilst touring south island and everything was cool. Jo was very helpful and friendly and managed to sort out a helicopter trip I wanted to do even when it wasn't initially available.

The rooms are spacious and good value. I used the laundry facilities which are clean and, again, good value.

Amity Lodge is within easy walking distance of the centre of Queenstown, but is tucked away in a quiet street. To drive to the centre is no more than five minutes.

I enjoyed my stay and would happily stay there again when I'm in Queenstown.

We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. We booked a one bedroom apartment and it was so spacious and very very clean. The room was serviced every day and the staff were very friendly. Whilst in Queenstown we were overwhelmed by the choice in activities but Jo and Doug were very helpful at recommending particular tour groups or things to do. Then even organised our tours and airport transfer for us. The location was great for us - a 5-10min walk to centre of town and being on the top floor we had a great views of the mountains. The rooms were warm and there was a lot of heating which was great because it was snowing when we were there. The beds had electric blankets which was a nice added surprise for us. We were not disappointed by this accommodation, it was really great value and we were not disappointed by any of Jo and Doug's recommendations - whether it be for restaurants or tour groups. I would definitely return to stay here when I come back to Queenstown and would recommend anyone else to stay here too.

Room Tip: We had a top floor apartment and the view was great - I cannot comment on anything else as we were n...

My husband & I stayed here for part of our honeymoon.
We had a very comfortable, peaceful stay in unit 8, i believe (on the upper floor).
The place was clean, comfortable, warm (there were heaters which heated up the apt well, this was important to me as i am not fond of the cold).
The place had spacious comfortable living room, a kitchenette, is well located with friendly & helpful owners.
The only hitch was the parking space, as we would get back late at night & there would be no parking space available within the compound & u would need to park on the road outside.
If the rates are within your budget, then look no further as you will not be disappointed with your stay here.

We arrived late but Jo & Doug could not have been more helpful, as soon as they discovered we were on the Funkak trip the next day (a must by the way) they were on the phone to arrange a pick up from outside. Were full of information and helpful tips. Their recomendation for supper was the best steak we had on our whole trip.

Room or more correctly Lounge/Kitchen and seperate bedroom was spacious, very well equiped with lots of useful little extras that make the stay so much more relaxed, a real home from home. The location just out of the main town in a quiet side street with its view of Ben Lomand and the cable car is very convienent with plenty of parking and the town a short stroll away.

This is a very good value Motel that we would return to without hesitation.

Room Tip: 1st floors offer better views, but stick to the ground floor if stairs not your thing

Jo & Doug could not have been more helpful!
We turned up late and had a barrage of questions to ask about kayaking in Milford Sound. Jo and Doug 'phoned various companies and basically got us totally sorted out in record time.
The room is spacious and clean and Queenstown is epic! I wish we were staying here longer; I definitely plan to return.

This tidy, unpretentious motel is within walking distance from the heart of queenstown. Set back from a main street, it's quiet and peaceful. The owner-managers are very helpful, warm and hospitable. The rooms are modern, spacious and provide everything you need. It's not a fancy luxury property, but for me it strikes a perfect chord. I've sent other people to the Amity Lodge and would absolutely stay here again. And all of this at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are sunnier.

This truly was the friendliest motel I have ever had the privilege to stay at. The manager went out of his way to make sure our time in Queenstown was as enjoyable as possible. The place itself was extremely well equipped and in a great location. We had a great time here.
