We were picked up from Queenstown to begin the long drive to Milford Sound. The packagewe purchased was the "Luxury cruise" which was buy 1 get the 2nd half price at the time. The bus includes a glass roof and extra leg room, also a picnic lunch for the cruise. Our bus driver, Ian, was AWESOME. He truly made that drive worth it, with his knowledgeable facts and friendly attitude. There wasn't a single question he didn't have an answer to regarding New Zealand, flora/fauna, etc. We stopped at a couple of places along the way, with places ranging from 5 minute walks to 20 minute return hikes. There's also a stop in Te Anau for lunch. Once we got to Milford Sound, the cruise was cool, though the guide (after being in Ian's company) seemed so bored and uninterested.
The weather wasn't great - cloudy, showers and cold - but Milford Sound delivers. Truly spectacular sights. You can only imagine what it's like in fair weather.

When they go up close the waterfall, make sure you're wearing waterproof clothing, or duck undercover.

This was an all day trip - just over 12 hours. Bring extra snacks!

Hi there,

Thanks so much for your review!

Ian is definitely a long-time customer favourite, and he is fabulous, just like the rest of the JUCY crew for our Milford Cruize. We hope you got some awesome photos to look back on at the end of your holiday!

Cheers,
Lucy xx

Highly recommend Jucy for the coach trip from Queenstown to Milford Sound. Its a long day, pickup from the hotel was 7.30am and get dropped back at 7.30pm, but don't let that put you off. Jesse from Jucy picked us up on time and gave us a wonderful day. He was so polite, informative and helpful, a real joy. The bus ride itself was really smooth and on the way home we were treated to the movie 'The Fastest Indian' which I hadn't seen before but had always wanted to. We also had a glass roof on the coach, all adding to being able to see so much more. Plenty of stops for great photo opportunities and even though it was raining at Milford Sound, it was all the better because the waterfalls were something else. The cruise itself was great as well, lovely staff, could not find fault with anything. It probably wouldn't be suitable for small/young children as there is quite a bit of time spent on the coach. Another great thing about this trip was that we had a great day out for the really reasonable price of $119 per person. Thanks Jesse and the Jucy team. You rock.

Hi there,

Thanks for your feedback! So glad to hear that you had an awesome time and enjoyed the movie The World's Fastest Indian - Burt Munro is a fascinating New Zealander! We will pass on your compliments to Jesse, he's definitely a great guide and very knowledgeable about everything to do with Milford Sound.

We hope you get another chance to come back and see Milford Sound again sometime. There is always the "fly" option! :-)

Cheers

Booked the trip whilst staying in Queenstown for NZ$119. The coach picked me at my hostel and we travelled down to The Anau which took 2 hours. There was a 30 stop here before heading on to Milford Sound stopping several times for some epic photos. The cruise down the fjord was about great, the smallish boat got right up to the waterfalls as well as a good talk by the boats captain over the PA. Free tea and coffee was available on board.

It's a long day but the bus journey is broken up and top marks to the driver Jesse for pointing out all the cool stuff along the way.

All in all a brilliant day and worth every dollar.

The weather was absolutely perfect: fresh snow, sun, sun and sun!

The cruize to Milford Sound with Jucy has been perfect.
It is a really cheap solution: 119$ for the day from Queenstown (coach - cruize - coach).
You have to think about it! It's not necessary to pay more to have a glass roof coach! With Jucy you will have many stops and opportunities to take beautiful pictures.

You just have to take your lunch with you, but on the way to Milford you will stop in Te Anau and you'll have the opportunity to buy some food if you need it.

I have no regrets! Perfect day - nice driver with plenty of useful and interesting comments.

jucy bus to te anau - miford sound is about 5hours. with awesome photos stop among the way, be reminded to grab snacks/drinks as the bus trip is so long that u get bored. however jucy driver entertain with infomation pertaining to the country and surrounding while driving, not easy! beautiful miford sound, we were lucky it didnt rain. and we saw seals on the rock! got splash by the waterfall and it can get really cold... but still worth it for a first visit. Lastly thanks jucy for the safe ride back to town!!
