We came to Invercargill to see the "Fastest Indian" motorcycle and found a really nice restaurant. We asked lots of folks where we should go for good seafood and were told "everyone" has seafood - we are glad to report that blue cod is a specialty of the region and it is served perfectly at The Rocks. The atmosphere is pleasing and the servers are more than pleasant and helpful.
We shall return here someday.

Just went in for a coffee and slice of cake, but the size of the piece of cake was awesome and really nice, staff were very friendly considering how busy they were. Would certainly go again

We were travelling with a large group and were very impressed at the food and service of the Rocks. It is always difficult with a large group, but the waitress and the staff were more than flexible to cater for us. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, good range of wine and beer, and excellent food.

Thanks guys.

We were visiting Invercargill in a very cold, wet July. Somebody had told us that The Rocks Café was good so we sought it out. We were able to park reasonably close (all good) and went there for dinner. We were a little dubious at first, as to whether we had the right place as it is at the end of a short shopping mall, but once inside we were very pleased with what we found.
Donna had the fish of the day and I had the 'Surf & Turf ', a steak with seafood. I gather that the fish was very good but the steak was excellent. Rare, tender and very juicy.
A glass of The Ned Sauvignon Blanc for Donna & a glass of Roaring Meg Pinot Noir for me, each went down well. Dinner was finished off by sharing a very good fruit crumble.
If you happen to be in Invercargill, please pay this place a visit. You'll be pleased you did.
