Brian and Anne Scott are convivial hosts. Brian gives lots of good advice on where to eat and what to see in Invercargill. He also says the climate of Invercargill is milder than people have been led to believe, and points to his garden as proof of this. The apartments (all single storey) are older constructions, well-built, with spacious rooms. These have been refurbished regularly throughout their lives. The entire apartment, including bathroom and kitchen, is meticulously clean and all rooms are fresh-smelling.The open plan kitchen/lounge is modern, with a recliner armchair and a sofa, a table and two chairs. The kitchen is basic but with a full range of utensils and cutlery. The benchtop is new, the plumbing works as it should, and the electric heater is formidable. Our unit had one separate bedroom with a queen bed. We spent a comfortable night and slept well because the room was quiet and dark. The price is the same for both one and two bedroom apartments, with a surcharge for extra guests. Our four friends did very well out of that deal! A pub nearby supplied annoying boom-boom music but this stopped at 10 p.m. To be honest, if the motel had not been so quiet one would hardly have noticed. Breakfast was a reasonable price, although guests could get their own meals if so desired. Brian invites guests to help themselves to produce in the garden if preparing their own meals, a very friendly gesture. A covered space next to the apartment ensures your car is safe from the elements. The motel is well located, but a car or taxi is needed if you wish to venture further than the nearby supermarket, pub and restaurants.

Enjoyable stay. Booked in as two families, we had 2 units connected by an adjoining door. Rooms were very clean and tidy, beds were fine, rooms were warm, and they had sky tv. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the price was reasonable and the motel was close to town and the local.

We stopped there on our way between the Catlins and Fiordland and it was a good place to stop. Furniture and equipment was a bit old fashion and it would be good to replace some of the electronics, but the location was adequate, the owners were excellent and the place itself was nice.

My husband and I stayed here in January 2012 for a wedding. We chose this place as we wanted to bring our dog and they allow pets. First off Anne and Brian are amazing and the best, most welcoming, giving hosts I have come across in a long time. Secondly, the room/units are fantastic! They are spacious, warm, and great for a small family or couple with a wild poodle!

Not surprisingly while we were there it was freezing (even though it was summer) and it poured and hailed. We loved going back to our cozy room and cuddling up with the heater on. There was also covered parking right next to our room (which they gave us so the dog could easily have access to the garden at the end of the property) which made it easy for us to stay dry.

The location is awesome, really close to town and some great restaurants, but enough space to walk the dog and have some peace. Brian and Anne have heaps of great info about the area and what you can do around Invers.

The rooms were so clean and tidy we felt as if they were brand brand new!

Would stay here again in a heartbeat the next time we are in Invercargill. Thanks Anne and Brian!

Room Tip: If you have a dog try to get the last unit near the garden!

We had a nice time staying at the motel. We stayed in a studio room and enjoyed the room very much. It was clean, comfortable, and the owners are very very nice kind and helpful. Great value for price. Much recommended.

The motel is very simple, not to close to town either so you'll need a vehicle.
The owners were very friendly and keen to talk about the upcoming rugby matches ;)
Free internet and parking included.
