“Nothing special........very average!”
Reviewed March 26, 2012

There was nothing special or above average for the rooms. In fact they were rather cold and damp..................paint bubbling in the corner of the room. Also I would say a little outdated or poorly renovated!

I have been staying here every 2 months for the last 2 years and I have always enjoyed my visits. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are very well presented, clean and modern. The location is great being right in the middle of town, many eatery's and bars within walking distance. Great value for money.

Booked the Quest on-line and paid at time of booking, arrived to locked door, but the entry system was easy enough and our key and registration papers were in a sealed envelope on the front desk. Once we located the room on the first floor we found it to be light and airy and well supplied with the usual compliments. A comfy bed and sound sleep was enjoyed after a night out celebrating at a birthday party, however we were woken by banging and clanging noises out in the corridor, not sure if it was other guests or staff with housekeeping trolleys, but suspect the latter. There was also one large skinny window in the bedroom with a sun blind covering but no curtain which meant as soon as the sun came up the room became light, difficult if you are sensitive to light!!! Check out was easy enough and the friendly guy on reception called us a taxi which promptl arrived. It was our first ever stay in Invercargill and would gladly stay at the Quest again if we were to return.

After spending over 15 minutes on the phone to the Quest Central Reservations booking an Executive Suite with a spa bath, we arrived at the property 30 minutes later (to find the door locked and the reception desk unattended) and were advised that the room had just been sold to a walk-in guest.

Only redeeming feature is the fact that the front desk clerk did recommend us to a fabulous hotel called the Birchwood Manor Motel. Stayed there instead and it was wonderful.

This is the best Quest premises I have stayed at in NZ. It helps that the rooms are housed in the former General Post Office building, right in the centre of Invercargill, but the room we had was magnificent: high-stud ceilings, zoned air-conditioning, modern kitchenette and laundry, lovely speced bathroom. It was very, very nice and well worth the $130/night we paid to stay a weekend without booking. Theyu have room charge back facilities with many local restaurants so that was very useful. Ample car parking on the side of the hotel too was good. I recommend this place to anyone who visits Invercargill. The only negative thing is the proximity to the local night clubs and bars and the hub-bub of partying locals at their local drinking holds, but the people-watching was also entertaining for a cold Saturday night. I wish all hotel accommodations were of this very high standard. Thank you very much Quest Invercargill.

Room Tip: Choose a room not one facing the main street.

Stayed for a week in Quest Invercargill, and could not fault the place. Was immaculate rooms, stunning customer service, and absolutely beautiful rooms. It was situated right in the middle of the CBD which made everything easily accessible. I was able to get a meal within a minute's walking distance, and charge this back to my room, which made everything so much easier for me.
I HIGHLY recommend Quest Invercargill to anybody who is wanting high quality accommodation and service.

Room Tip: All rooms are immaculate

I stay here regularly for work. I have always been impressed with the service and the friendliness of the staff. Breakfast packs are a complete waste of money, but go to Tuatara Café just along the street for excellent scrambled eggs. In many of the rooms the floors are squeaky, which is quite annoying, but if you get a quiet one it's fine. Disabled showers will totally soak the bathroom so ask for a unit with an enclosed shower. Good quality soap, it's one of my favourites. They have chargeback facilities for meals at many local restaurants which, if you're travelling for business, is a great feature.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the roads, because it can be extremely noisy with boys in their cars on a F...
