We loved our stay here. It was outstanding. Stunning gardens, immaculate room with underfloor heating and Anne and Mike were more like friends than hosts, they were so caring. Mike shared great info about Bert Munro, the worlds fastest Indian and his motorbikes. I would not hesitate to recommend stay here as a stopover between Queenstown and Dunedin.

We stayed in the cottage, and it couldn't have been nicer. A cold and blustery day... and a nice fireplace with a well stocked woodbin. A full kitchen and comfortable living area. A comfortable bed. And gorgeous gardens, friendly hosts and even friendlier dogs. A gem of a B&B. We are sorry we only stayed one night!

The only downside I'll mention is that internet access is extraordinarily slow -- never above 25kbps, and wireless reception in the cottage is spotty at best.

Still, couldn't recommend more highly!

Room Tip: We loved the cottage for its privacy and garden setting.

Beersheba is situated in park like grounds. Extensive lawns front a large meandering pond with small foot bridges leading to fields where sheep graze. My husband and I considered visiting Queens Park but why when we had it all just outside our bedroom door.
Our bedroom was large(sitting area with couches just a step down) warm and comfortable. Every requirement was met.
Anne and Mike are knowledgeable and gracious hosts.
What more could one want ?

Our private cottage was surrounded with flowers! Foxgloves by the entrance, roses surrounding the dining and dining room windows, clematis and wisteria on the patio....and that wasn't even walking around the rest of the yard.

We were charmed by the "extras" including fresh orchids on the kitchen island and bedside tables, tasty caramel bars to have with tea, and the fireplace set up and ready to start with one match. Anne gave us a great dinner suggestion, Emberz at Ascot Park that was close by.

This is a great place, outside of the busy Invercargill center, quiet and calming.

Room Tip: The main house looked lovely, but you can't beat the Cottage for privacy.

After a wonderful day in the Catlins, easy to find Beersheba is in a nice quiet location some 7km from the town centre. Impressive entrance and deceptively large inside - obviously architect designed.

Warm welcome from Anne (despite her suffering a heavy cold!) who showed us into modern, elegant room (Tamarisk), split level and opening on to extensive lovely rear garden. Spring flowers and shrubs were stunning!

Enjoyed a cup of tea and conversation with Mike and Anne before heading out to dinner. Anne recommended The Rocks (15 minute drive) and reserved us a table. Food and service were fine.

Bed was extremely comfortable and room contained everything we needed. A very friendly chocolate Labrador also came to welcome us!

We reserved through booking.com at what we thought was a very reasonable rate ($159) so we were not entirely surprised not to be offered a "gourmet" breakfast - it was a simple continental affair but quite acceptable.

Overall, accommodation was excellent.

I travel extensively throughout NZ and Australia. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed anywhere. Rooms are great. Breakfast is like a 5star top end hotel. Hosts are very friendly, and even dropped me to the client I was visiting the next day, to save me waiting on a taxi. Only just out of town. Very quiet. The sort of place you'll keep coming back to.
