Room Tip: All rooms I have stayed at in the Kelvin have been excellent, although some rooms are affected by no...

good location but rooms are small and outdated. I travel a lot and always look for a place that gives me the comforts of home.

Food good
car parking not good as you have to park at another building.

Poor service, average location, small, old fashioned rooms, albeit very clean and tidy.

I was travelling on business and won't visit again. Inattentive staff werent very helpful, paper thin walls meant I didn't get much sleep. Hotel looks like it was decorated in the 70s and hasn't been touched since.

Stayed here for a couple of weeks for business. One week I stayed in a renovated room and the next an older style room which still was good. Enjoyed the renovated room as had flat screen TV and nice bathroom. The restaurant in hotel had great food, especially breakfast. Dinner was very nice as well. Hotel must have agreements with most restaurants around the city because meals could be charged back to room number. Car park was odd as was across the road from department store and was a cold walk back to the car in winter. Overall great hotel in central location about a 10 minute drive from airport.

Room Tip: Ask for renovated room.

We were travelling through Invercargill as part of our honeymoon and had one night here. They upgraded us to a suite on the top floor with a spa bath and double shower. The staff were so friendly and the room was amazing! Plus it's so central, you can walk everywhere. It was a great stay, the only thing I would say is we ate in the restaurant which we thought would be amazing after our other experiences but it was really average. I had the roast and my husband had the pork chops. The roast potato seemed to be beer battered and deep fried and the carrots we soggy. We were quite disappointed with the food. But the hotel itself was fantastic so I'd definitely recommend it, just eat out if you stay here though!

Room Tip: Eat out!

We had a suite on the top floor which was fantastic,so cant comment if you want a less expensive room.
Spa with a view,great bathroom,plenty of storage,nice city & mountain view.
Restaurant has a great Launge and groovy bar,say hi to Steve the bar manager [who will possibly buy you a cocktail]
Great for shopping,just outside.
TIP Valet parking is free!

Room Tip: Book a top flr suite
