Situated at the end of Southlands Museum, this was a place of beauty. The rose gardens had just began to wilter when we visited, but were still a joy. The old trees were amazing, and make excellent photography shots.
Do enjoy the variety of birds in the Avairy, and the Japenese Garden. Ideal for old and young alike.
This a place of calm and enjoyment, a must visit if in the vicinity

Queens Park has the lovely lawns, amazing old trees and colourful gardens that you would expect, but there was so much more. Oriental Gardens, native animals, cricket grounds and a golf course to name a few. The Cheeky Llama Café in the centre was a great spot for a meal, no doubt named after the animals in a nearby paddock. The gardens are immaculate and very colourful. While they were very busy, there were still ample peaceful areas. An excellent centrepiece to Invercargill and a must see.

This park is next door to the museum and the golf course. Love rose garden and playground for the little ones. We had picnic lunch followed by a walk - some exercise equipment along the way for those who wish to burn more calories.Tranquil time for parents but the energetic young ones get their workouts. bring food for the ducks!

Where to start ! Queens park in Invercargill has to be one of the most beautiful , diverse and stunning parks i have visited anywhere in the world .
There is something for everyone of every age . Walk down the main boulevard ,framed by majestic trees that are a wonder in all seasons , from the vibrant green of spring to the russet and burnt orange of autumn . There are several rose gardens , ( heavenly) , a great play ground , gorgeous duck pond which has been landscaped exceptionally well ,. Which ever way you wander , you will find areas of diversbeauty , the camellia walk , the hot house , the animal "farmyard ' the aviary, the Japenese garden and sooo much much more !! There are a couple of cafe's , one right int he park , called the 'Llama" great food and exceptional service and another in the main entrance that is situated in the museum and art gallery ( in /bythe park ) . I can not speak highly enough of this jewel . Whether you want a quick stroll or make a day of it , definitely go ! You will find yourself returning again and again !!
