“It Will Take A Lot To Beat This Holiday Park!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

On a rainy night after a day exploring The Catlins we just needed somewhere to stay and to get some warm food and we stumbled upon this place in our book!

We arrived just before 8pm to a nice warm greeting from the owner, Karen I believe. She was helpful in her advice about Invercargill too.

After parking up the van we made it to the Kitchen and Lounge area. I have never seen a kitchen in a holiday park so widely stocked and with lots of storage room. Makes it so much easier with unloading and reloading the van and especially in the rain!

The bathroom facilities were so nice too.

The next day we decided we wanted to visit Bluff and see locations of the movie THE WORLDS FASTEST INDIAN. So we booked another night. On our return I was speaking to the owner of our day and she borrowed us her copy of the movie after giving us a good deal on a dorm room.

We had the biggest dorm room. It was so clean and warm and very comfortable. Outdoes some of the hostels I have been in.

If I ever go to Invercargill in a motorhome or something again I am definitely coming back here.

Oh and it is also a working farm and you can help feed the animals too. An added bonus I would say ;p

The owners are friendly and helpful. They showed us a few rooms before letting us to decide which to choose. We had the whole dorm to ourselves (2 person). It was clean and warm enough for winter. A new kitchen, BARN was recently built, big and with full facilities. The park is away from town, quiet and dark. We were allowed to feed the farm animals in the early morning with the owners.

Five of us flew down for the Bluff Oyster Festival on a last minute whim - couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Gary was incredibly accommodating and went out of his way "going the extra mile/s" for his guests. We stayed in one of the "dorm" rooms - comfortable, cosy and price friendly. The facilities were fabulous - "the barn" lounge/common room is exceptional - spacious, with modern appliances and well thought out design. We would all definitely stay here again.

Many thanks for the great review of your stay. Gary asked me to say he had a ball looking after you "young girls"! We look forward to you coming to stay again, cheers Karen

This holiday park is ten kilometres out of Invercargill in a lovely rural setting. It is sparklingly clean and beautifully well cared for. The owners, Karen and Gary must have terrific energy! Our eleven year old daughter loved helping Karen feed the animals. We will definately stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the self contained retro cottage. It backs on to (I think) a showerblock, so we expect...

A very enjoyable short Easter break. Very clean and comfy accomodation. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were spotlessly clean and tidy and the use of 2 free BBQ's was a bonus. The host's were very friendly and approachable. The morning feeding of the farm animal's was a nice touch and a huge hit with the youngsters. Would reccomend this holiday park to all, especially those with children.

Sometimes it the things you least except that make an impact when you're on holiday isn't it. We never tire of seeing the looks on the children's faces when they get to feed the animals, it is always a delight, so glad you were able to enjoy that too! Karen

We have recently returned from a tour of New Zealand and this was the nicest campsite we stayed at. The reception was very friendly and the price paid reasonable for the facilities available. We stayed on a powered site which was well spaced from the next campervan and sheltered by a high hedge to the rear. The amenity block was very clean with good showers. The kitchen and lounge facilities are in a large new block called The Barn. Apart from washing up we didn't use the kitchen but it was clean and functional and appeared to be well equipped. The whole site was well maintained. Dumpsites and recycling bins are available. There are also laundry facilities and an internet service available at reasonable cost.
The site is a little outside Invercargill so you do need transport, but as we were in a campervan this was not an issue for us.

This was a great place to stay and we would definitely use the site again if we were to return to Invercargill.
