During our road trip in New Zealand we made a stop in Invercargill. Cute, small town! We decided to stay at Yarrow Motel. It was really easy to find and we could park right outside the studio we were staying in. The staff was very friendly on our arrival and helped out to point out some destinations on our trip around Invercargill.
The studio was great! Lots of space, clean, fresh. The kitchen was separated from the studio, and was pretty big. Pots, pans, all you needed. The bed was comfortable and we had a really good night sleep. Wi-Fi was very limited but worked ok during our stay.
We walked to the city center, didnt take that much time. But most people seem to be traveling with their cars.

Whilst not an upmarket place, this was a very good motel to stop off on our travels. Very nice staff & comfortable & clean rooms.

Located a 10 minute walk from Invercargill shops & restaurants, so not too far out of the way.

Very peaceful & plenty of parking.

Room Tip: All rooms are good here!

This is second time in 7 months we have used this motel. I can not speak highly enough of the owners they are very friendly and nothing is a problem if it makes your stay better. The cleanliness inside and outside the units is of a very high standard. Again thank you for everything, we will be back.

Booked this room through lastminute.com. Cost around the $90 mark for one night.
Great location!
Walking distance or a short drive to the main street and the museum.
Staff were very helpful and provided us with maps, drink vouchers and free wifi. A morning paper was also offered.
The room contained a combined main bedroom/lounge with TV and heater. A separate kitchen was excellent with everything you could need, including a good variety of tea, coffee etc.
Bathroom was good with a nice hot shower and a separate heater which kept the room lovely and warm.
Owner gave us info on Burt Munro's "Worlds Fastest Indian" motorcycle display. The actual bike is housed in a hardware store nearby. Free to view. Other old bikes and cars are also on display in the store.
A replica of the bike is on display in the museum - also free to enter.
We were also given directions to Oreti Beach where Burt Munro used to test race his bike. You can drive directly onto the beach.
This motel's location is excellent and we loved the room - plenty of space for us and our luggage. Would definitely stay here again.

The rooms may look abit dated but they were spotless. The bathroom a credit to the cleaners. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Close to city and Queens Park. We found the unit very quiet ....... yes we would stay again.

...as were the fluorescent tubes on the ceiling. Our very dated unit was somewhat depressing. Wi-fi (50 MB only) is free. There was a cooker, but guests are asked not to cook smelly meals. Very quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated unit.

We do our very best to ensure our guests have a pleasant stay with us. We are sorry that you found our "plastic" veneer wall coverings offensive. To be quite honest we dislike them very much too.

When purchasing these motels just over 2 years ago we made the decision that rather than doing a "quick fix cover-up job" to eradicate the veneer wall linings, we would completely renovate to ensure high quality standards in our units.

We have been working very hard on this and there are only 2 and a half units left in our complex that have some veneer wall coverings. Over the summer period we are a very busy motel so we cannot undertake renovations at this time of the year.

When you made your booking with us online, you may have viewed our photo gallery which does show the one bedroom unit you stayed in has veneer wall covering. You did specifically request a quiet unit and from what we can tell, you were satisfied that request was met.

If we had been made aware when you checked in that you were not happy with that unit we would have been more than happy to put you in one of our modern units, had one been available.

Obviously, the flourescent lighting will be replaced when the room is renovated. We trust overall you have enjoyed your time in New Zealand.
