Had an excellent meal in this warm and inviting atmosphere. Lambs Fry and Bacon was beautifully cooked well presented and very flavoursome. Service was great with the staff being friendly and engaging. Warm open fire was especially welcoming.

Checked menu on line and ordered the large lamb shanks when we got there. Unfortunately only had one lamb shank as the on line menu had not been updated, so the portion was smaller than I would have liked. We were told of the discrepancy when paying the bill. Reported it through their online menu that it required updating. Have had no contact from them. This is the second time we have been and the previous meal was small to

As we were in town on a Sunday evening we decided to dine at Waxy's. Being Sunday we did not book but on arrival were told they had no tables avaliable. We were told we could sit at a lean table, where we were given a menue and told there was a large table about to order but if we decided quickly our order would go in first. Our food arrived in about 20min and looked great, I ordered blue cod which was fresh and cooked beautifly, my only complaint was that there was only one piece I would have loved another. Price was reasonable and would go again for the beautiful fish. Apart from not being able to sit at a table it was an overall good experience.

Really enjoyed the meal. Took a while for them to find us a table and the staff were OK but not overly friendly, however patrons were! Food was very good value. Quick to take order and food arrived soon after. Delicious seafood chowder. Beer batter fish and chips better than expected. Fresh fish and plenty of chips. Deserts options were poor and the food less than expected.

We visit Waxy's regularly on a Friday or Saturday nights - sometimes a Sunday lunch. Always good service, meals good and well priced. Will keep Waxy's on our list of restaurants.
