Beautiful historic building, amazing decor, roaring fire in the colder months and live piano early in the week, when available. We are open 7 evenings a week from 5.30.

“Large, friendly and good value”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

This is a large Italian restaurant that really focusses on pizza and pasta but it's in a fabulous old building (on the first floor) with some really interesting touches ie chandeliers and an old world feel. It's noisy as it's a large space but an ideal place for a group of friends to enjoy dinner - probably not the ideal spot for a romantic dinner for two!
The other amazing thing is this restaurant has a great wine list - the owner Fred is a bit of a wine buff so if you need something special from his cellar, just let him know. He's sure to delight with an amazing wine from his extensive collection! And if you'r'e gluten-free - there are no issues as they do both pizza and pasta with gluten-free ingredients!

“Fantastic Pasta and Pizza with great atmosphere”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

I've eaten here twice in two weeks - both led by someone from Dunedin taking a group to a "fab late night place". The first group was after a business seminar which finished late with the group of about 12 organizers and speakers looking for somewhere to go for a late supper. Although we arrived at 10pm, the place was buzzing with people in groups having drinks, dinner of chatting over coffee. New people kept arriving despite the late hour. The service was fast and efficient, food was good home style pasta and pizza at very reasonable prices. Our second group was much bigger - and a little better planned with arrangements made with Fred earlier. Once again we had fantastic service despite a busy Friday night crowd in the restaurant. The food is simple - no grills or roasts - just pasta and pizza with nice simple salads. We stayed a little late, well past other diners having left, but no objections from the staff to our late night. Highly recommended as one of the best casual dining places in Dunedin.

“Fabulous fun place to eat”

Great family run restaurant with real ties to Italy. Pasta, Pizza and salad - great food but the owners make the whole experience a fun night out. If you are lucky you may end up with free Lemincello to finish the evening

Consistently good Italian food. Reasonable range on menu and all well priced. Good range of wines available. Can get busy so best to book at weekends.
