Recently we enjoyed a meal at Eltrusco. Even though we were a little early we were accommodated and enjoyed a tasty meal. :)

“Perfect!”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

The food at Etrusco was brilliant as per usual! The service and the atmosphere there was just what we wanted and although the entire restaurant was full and we were warned about a delay in our food, it arrived in good time and we all left satisfied :D

“Excellent evening”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Etrusco. We were told that a table of 70 people had also been booked for the night and that we should expect a little delay in getting our food, which we were fine with. The service was excellent and our meals came out very quickly, so we were very impressed.

Great rustic food, friendly service, good prices. The boar was off so had the venison pasta. Always look forward to our visits to Dunedin.

“Laid-back dinner for two”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

We wanted tasty italian food and were not disappointed.
I had the pasta al verde (they kindly let me choose spaghetti instead of penne) and my partner had another pasta dish and we shared a small green salad. Both pastas were just under 20$ each and were delicious and nicely presented. I love the fact you can order medium (plenty for me!) or large size.
We each had a glass of a nice NZ read (goes from 5$ to 10$ a glass).
Given the positive reviews on this site about the lemon tart, we ordered one for dessert. It is not really an italian dessert: it is a fluffy lemon mousse on a sweet biscuit base. Not bad, but not amazing, and definitely didn't make me think of Italy!
I was surprised to see that the menu only offers pizza and simple pasta dishes: not even lasagna or cannelonis. It's mostly the kind of dishes you could prepare at home yourself, so no big discoveries there.
The big space is nicely decorated, the high ceilings are wonderful and the staff very helpful and friendly. Service was efficient and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. The narrow two-people table are lovely for couples who like to chat and hold hands :) But I think I would be a bit uncomfortable sitting at them for a business lunch.
The staff let us sit there a while after dinner without trying to rush us away.
All in all, a lovely dinner for two.
