Spotlessly clean , tasteful decor, extremely well equipped generously sized rooms . Comfortable lounge area, small gym, pleasant outdoor seating areas .In the university area but well away from the road and we found it pretty quiet. Probably the best motel we have ever stayed in. If I was really scraping around to find a fault it would be that they had UHT rather than fresh milk , though I am sure if I had asked this would have been provided, as the owner was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel/motel was tuckedaway off the main road up a steep drive to the car park. Smart appearance and very clean and tidy. Emmaculate rooms and classy furnishings. Facilities were superb, washing machine/dryer, fridge, good cooking facilities - not that we used them other than for breakfast.

We were somewhat disappointed in the location, it is in the university area of the city. The surrounding shops and restaurants were down at heel and lots of litter on the streets - the worst of our 5 week tour of NZ. However the very brisk ten minute walk away and into the main area was no problem.

The thing that spoilt the stay for us was the noise. We were situated at the rear of the hotel which faces university halls of residence (we think), and other apartment blocks. There were parties and shouting and noise until around 2 am on two of our three night stay. For this reason alone we would not return here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front.

Superb motel in Dunedin that felt more hotel than motel. The whole building seems quite new and felt elegant and plush as we arrived. Easy check-in, helpful staff. Rooms are lovely - studio with kitchenette and bathroom. Spacious, and beautifully decorated in calming blues and greys and browns. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. There was a small balcony, with views of the town and the harbour. The kitchen was well set up, with a good washer/dryer for clothes, and powder provided free, excellent. Fridge and all the cutlery and crockery you could need. The bathroom was spotless, with a huge spa bath and good shower over it.
The motel is situated on George street, about 3 mins drive/10 mins walk down to the Octagon. There's a dairy (grocery) just a minute away, and lots of restaurants/takeaways on the road down to the centre. Great location. Recommended.

This motel is centrally located in Dunedin , it has impeccable decor , is quiet and a very lovely place to stay, for couples, business people etc ,would not be great for families I don't think. The service was discreet , friendly , we stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the experience very much.
The rooms had plenty of space, balconies and lovely bathrooms. The place was quiet and the beds very comfortable. i would stay ther again in a flash.

We enjoyed two nights at the beautiful Bluestone on George when we visited Dunedin. This small modern botique hotel is ideally located close to the city centre restaurants and cafes. Our spa room with balcony overlooking the city was stylish, beautifuly appointed, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The small kitchenette even contained a washer/dryer which was very welcome after a weeks travelling. The owners Neville and Sandra looked after us very well.
Although the hotel does not have a restaurant this was not a problem, we were able to order dinner by room service and good restaurants and cafes are only a short walk away.
