“Wild and beautiful and easily accessible!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

We saw rare sea lions, seals, royal albatross, a penguin, unspoilt beaches... and all without needing to join a tour!

“Viator Tour of Dunedin and the Otago Peninsula”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

By far the worst tour we took on our visit to NZ in February. The day was rainy, windy and chilly. The local provider did not display the Viator name on the vehicle, so he was impossible to find. After several trips up and down all the tour vehicles, we found him. The PA system on the bus did not work so it was impossible to hear him. 2 of the passengers who signed up for the tour never showed up, so after waiting about 30 minutes, we left, only to be called back to return to the port to pick them up, after we were already in the city of Dunedin. We lost at least 60-90 minutes of the tour time by waiting for them and then having to drive back and forth to the pick up location at the Port. We did not see any wildlife or much of anything else except the road from Port Chalmers to Dunedin... waste of money.

“Spectacular Otago Peninsula”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

A day on the Peninsula is well worth it. Visit the Yellow Eyed Penguins, Larnach Castle, take the one hour trip on the Monarch from Wellers Road, visit the Albatross Colony and watch the little blue penguins come in at nightfall.

“Like nature? Who doesn't?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

The otago peninsula could easily fill a week of a nature loving tourist's time. Walks, beaches, hills, history, birds, seals, you name it, this place has got it. Just driving around it in an afternoon will leave you a bit weary, it is worth much more time than most spend.
