A fantastic old home that is open to the public for guided tours. Set in the hills above DUnedin on the Green Belt, it offers a truly remarkable look into the life of one of Dunedins earliest wealthy settlers. Attention to detail, and authenticity make this well worth a look.

I didn't have any high expectations of this tour, having visited many castles in Europe I thought I'd seen it all, so to speak. However, this place was truly unique. The family had a very eclectic taste in art and it was hard to take in all the beautiful pieces in such a short time. The materials used throughout the house are also very impressive. I was lucky enough to have the tour to myself and the guide made it easy for me to imagine how the family lived.

One of the best preserved and interesting heritage buildings and furnishings we have seen. Excellent commentary and what a pleasure to be allowed to play the old (over 100 years old)Steinway Grand piano

The house might appear to be another ordinary historical house by the look from outside, but the charm of this house will be discovered as soon as you step inside. This is a must see in Dunedin. Location is also very convenient just a short walk from the city centre.

This was a great place to visit while in Dunedin. Everything in this house is original and nothing has been bought in. There is art, antiques and artifacts here that are priceless. Very well maintained house and grounds. If you are walking there, prepare for a long, steep walk but it is worth it.
