We visited here on a very misty cold windy afternoon and enjoyed our time here.
We had Devonshire tea in the ballroom with warm scones which was delicious.
The tour of the gardens was great, you could take as much time as you wanted.
Inside the castle you could pay extra to hear the commentary about the rooms or just walk around yourselves like we did.
There is lots of information to read about the history of the castle, quite sad really, and they have kept things in its original state.
All money paid on entry goes to the upkeep of the castle which we didn't mind paying, kids entered free due to being school holidays.
