We choose the above after reading previous reviews on Trip Advisor - thank you. What a gem, from the moment we stepped into reception we were made to feel "at home". The owners Raeleen and Jeff are very friendly and helpful and go out of the way to tell you how to get around Dunedin and the sites to visit - real ambassadors. Our one bedroom apartment was extra large and furnished very comfortably furnished. A good night sleep was ensured due to the double glazing. One great bonus, washing machines are free of charge, you only pay for the dryers. We found the motel a little too far to walk to the town centre, but it is only a short drive - beware of the one-way streets. We were extremely happy with our stay (2days) and would not hesitate in staying there again.

We stayed here as our "home base" while visiting our son who is a student at the University of Otago. We stayed 10 nights over a 2 week period and this hotel was an excellent choice for us. It was VERY clean with everything we needed, not fancy but VERY comfortable. The kitchenette made it easy to fix breakfast in the room, or a late night snack. Beds were very comfortable and location was quiet. The location was perfect for our needs, within easy walking distance to the University and shopping and dining. Wifi worked great so we could keep in contact with home. Staff was wonderful. I would stay here again anytime we visited Dunedin.

I stayed on both ends of a South Island trip spanning August and September 2010. First visit I had a studio, the second a one bedroom. Both had well equipped kitchenettes. The rooms were spotless, bathrooms modern, bed comfortable. It was winter and there was plenty of heat available. The location was perfect for me: a block from the University, which I was visiting and a 15 minute walk to the Octagon. The proprietors live on the premises and were invariably helpful. They have a well-stocked DVD library in the office for use with the in-room players. Wi-Fi was included (in other motels I found that it was available but at extra cost). I chose Allan Court in advance based on its location and other TripAdvisor reviews, but my return trip was booked after my initial stay. Highly recommended for business or leisure. By the way, the Botanic Garden and its aviary, a short drive from Allan Court, is a must-visit in Dunedin.

Booked a 2 bedroom apartment on the first floor. When we arrived the host showed us to the apartment and then provided us with an overview of what Dunedin has to offer. As well as all the tourist activities she recommended some activities for the children which proved to be beneficial. Whist the hotel is not new, the apartment was clean, spacious and many of the rooms had been updated (eg the bathroom etc). We found it very comfortable for a family of 5. It was an easy walking distance with our 6 year old to restaurants, shopping and the Cadbury Chocolate factory.

Chose this motel based off TripAdvisor, and it did not disappoint. We had an upstairs one bedroom unit facing out onto George St. The beds were amazingly comfortable, and the living area cosy. The unit was on the cosy side, but had more than enough room for two people to bumble around. There was very little road noise from George St, and despite being the middle of winter the provided heaters warmed the place up nicely. Only one or two very minor quibbles (more comments really), the bathroom heater didn't seem to heat, it sort of more blew coolish air, and the provided carparking, while nicely secure, was on the tight side. The owners were very pleasant and overall I was very happy with our stay. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed 2 nights in this motel - not a long enough stay for Dunedin as we discovered! I can only add to other positive comments. The motel is centrally situated about 20 minutes walk to the Octagon - or a 5 minute drive by car or by the bus which stops right outside. We had a king size room at the front on the corner and I was impressed by the compact layout - the kitchenette separate from the bedroom and the bathroom well designed also. The fittings are of high quality and it is very clean. I highly recommend it for convenience and comfort.

The location was great - just 5min walk from restaurants and shops, and maybe 10-15min to the Octagon at the centre of town. Plenty, plenty of cuisines to choose from just a short walk away - you'll never go hungry! Jeff had plenty of helpful information and suggestions, which was great! The unit was spacious, and just about had the nicest bathroom we had amongst the 8 motels we stayed in during our trip. Big, spacious, large counter space to put our things, lovely water pressure/temperature settings from the shower. Oh yes, even the bedrooms had a small TV mounted on the wall. Loved this place, really!
