What a better end than usual to a sales conference. Not at all generic, but rather quite special.
Small serves of exceptional tastes. Good with a larger group as you get to taste a lot of dishes but also a bit frustrating as only a small taste of each. We live local so will go back with husband and drill down on the really good dishes....this is special.

The food was simply amazing. Great tastes and a friendly atmosphere. Perfect balance of flavors. Fairly priced. Make sure you make a reservation in advance.
We simply loved every single dish we tried. This definitely is one of our favorite restaurants in Christchurch. Highly recommended !!!!

The Bodhi Tree has moved to 399 Ilam Rd, Ilam, Christchurch.

Last night we tried Marinated Fish (very yummy), Deep Fried Vegetables, Papaya Salad (really liked this), Mushroom Salad, Pork Dumplings (YUM), Garlic Prawns (Gorgeous) and surprisingly Tofu & Sauce.
Have never liked tofu before but a workmate told me this dish was nice. It's made using split peas not soya beans and it was actually quite nice!
Our waitress was very helpful and was happy to provide more information when we asked about which tofu dish we should try.

If you've never had Burmese food before, give it a try. It's very different and anyone who enjoys Thai or Indian food will find this a refreshing change.
The staff were friendly and helpful and always willing to give advice on the menu. It follows in the nice NZ tradition of BYO as well.
Booking in advance is advised as the restaurant is quite small.

Highly recommended!!

The first time we had tried Burmese food but it won't be the last! Both my wife and I loved every dish we tried - especially the Tea Leaf Salad and the Shredded Green Papaya Salad. Nice, cosy, informal atmosphere and excellent, friendly service. No wonder it's popular!
