We booked a family room for 4 person, the room is clean and the kitchen is well equipped. Because of the recent earthquake we decide to skip Christchurch city tour and go directly outside the city so the location is no matter to us. The worst thing is the owner or manager was so rude and unfriendly when we check-out. We would not come back again for this reason.

Really good location not far from the city centre, so great for walking into town for lunch/dinner. Very large room and large bathroom with good off road parking. Room has kettle, tea, coffee, milk, small hob, microwave, fridge, towels and hair dryer.

This motel was our last stop after 20 days on the road. We were pleased to find that there were cooking facilities provided in the room so we could self-cater. The bed was firm without being too firm and we had a large, spacious bathroom as we were in a disabled access room. As others have mentioned, it may not be close to the centre of the city, but at the moment, there isn't really a city centre. We were there in time for the World Busker's Festival and we were able to walk easily to Hagley Park where it was held.
The motel also has laundry facilities, which was definitely convenient as we wanted to wash everything before heading home. The dryer was a little finicky, taking a lot longer than you would expect to dry things. Still, it got the job done in the end.
We were happy with Bealey Ave. and while it might be a little out of the way, it is great for people looking to self-cater and who are happy to walk around.

Room Tip: The disabled access room is very spacious if it hasn't already been booked!

The room was very clean, large and well maintained. As written by others, very strong smell of disinfectant when entering the room the first time, but opening the windows for a while solved the problem for the rest of the stay. At least, it means that the room has been thoroughly cleaned since the last guest. Bed comfortable. Kitchen area with microwave. Bathroom with shower. Free WiFi, working well.

Bealey is the avenue where all the motels are situated. I don't know if I would say that the location is convenient. All of the center of Christchurch is still closed due to the earthquake, so I don't know if there is today a place that can be described as convenient in Christchurch. The temporary bus station for InterCity is located one block from the hotel, so at least it has been convenient for me for catching the early bus for a day trip to Kaikoura for whale watching (recommended!). Came back with the train (also recommended, scenic views). I also recommend a day trip to Akaroa for watching the dolphins, seals and penguins (trip can be easily organized with a company named Akaroa Shuttle).

Stayed here with my family for a night as it was on Bealey Ave and centrally located. Really clean rooms and was very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this place if you are just needing a room (without the other facilities eg. swimming pool). Keep up the good work!

We stayed at the Bealey Avenue Motel recently as we were looking for a convenient overnight stay between our flight landing in Christchurch at 10pm, and leaving on our campervan holiday the next morning at 9. The Motel owners accommodated us by leaving the keys inside our room as it was nearly midnight before we finally got there. The room was well appointed, comfy and half way between the airport and city centre, making it an ideal place for a stopover if Christchurch isn’t your final destination. Breakfast wasn’t part of our room rate, but we were pleased to discover a ale house just 100m down the road that served a hearty breakfast from 7am onwards.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms have a little private courtyard patio
