The house is closed for repairs but the grounds are well worth a visit. Flowers are wonderful and the houses on the other side of the river are stunning.

Although the house ,which normally would offer drinks & food, at present is closed for earthquake repairs the grounds are worth a visit with the possibility of a punt on the river.

What a find. Accidentally found when walking to a school rugby competition. The trees in autumn are beautiful. The grounds are kept immaculate. The older trees intertwined are amazing. The species of flowers, trees and shrubs are gorgeous. A beautiful place for a picnic. Some quiet areas available for a more romantic picnic.
The rose garden is wonderful with the most amazing aroma.
A little area to launch a canoe for a paddle up stream.
Unfortunately, the homestead is closed due to the 2011 earthquake.

Beautiful spot where you can spend time walking among the beautiful flora and fauna of the South Island. Some damage to the facilities from quake activity but the gardens & ponds are a beautifully maintained area. Not many other visitors on the day we visited so it felt like a private tour. Definitely recommend for garden enthusiasts!!
