This was my second visit to a most unique shopping experience. Businesses who lost their premises in the 2011 earthquake have opened again at reStart.
All the stores are fitted out shipping containers - all brightly covered.
It adjoins the Ballantynes department store which did survive. There are boutiques, gift shops, clothing stores, communication companies and banking services.
There is also places for coffee and meals.
Not often can you eat on a balcony made up of shipping containers.
One of my favourite places in New Zealand, and one of the most special places to shop anywhere in the world. A touching, yet happy place to be.
