“Comfortable and convenient”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

Stayed here for 2 nights for a friends wedding, we stayed in a one bedroom apartment unit and this was a nice size, we didn't use the cooking facilities as we were out most of the time. Rooms were very clean and tidy. Service was great, I only booked for 2 nights instead of 3, they had no more vacancy but the owner suggested some nearby hotels, checked their availability and booked us a room for a 3rd night which was awesome and took the stress off for me!
In close walking distance to supermarket, liquor store, Westfield shopping mall and cafés and restaurants.
We had a rental car so it was a nice short drive into the city.
Location is excellent and I wouldn't hesitate staying here again :)

This is the first of 6 months I will be staying here due to my work in Christchurch. I have a 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor and so far I'm happy with things.

For those arriving from the airport, this is very convenient as it is located on a busy road into town, but not a great deal of traffic noise. Riccarton is a buzzing suburb with plenty of options for eating - the added advantage of the location of the motel is it's proximity to a bus stop - a bus every 10 mins or so into town. Too far to walk for the elderly, but just about do-able for the rest of us.

Rooms cleaned daily - spotless. Furniture basic but ok. As with most NZ accommodation, storage space not good and cooking facilities very basic.

Would I stay here again? Yes.

Nicely presented with a handy location, close to the airport,as I was flying out the next morning I found it convenient to stay here, also it is close to the Bush Inn and Riccarton malls.Price was average

Service and friendliness from the nice Chinese Lady who handled my check in,no problems there.

Room was comfortable and bed was fine, shower almost drilled a hole in me but I like that.

TV is New Zealand free to air rubbish only, dont bother, watch a video instead

All in all I am happy to recommend this Motel to others who are looking for a stress free stay in Christchurch

Room Tip: there are upstairs and downstairs rooms, people with mobility issues might want to check this out bef...

Nice motel with good sized room. WE only spent a few hours here, as were flew out of Christchurch in the wee hours of the morning. But the bed was comfortable and its location was good as several eateries were within walking distance from it.

Unfortunately, the terrible weather that blew in, meant that getting to said eateries was distinctly unpleasant. Sleet blowing in at 120km/hr is really quite painful, not to mention cold and wet.

Made the heating system in the room all the more appreciated!

This is the second time we have stayed at this motel, and would happily return again on our next visit to Christchurch. The heaters had been turned on before we arrived, so the room was lovely and cosy when we walked in. The unit was spacious, clean and well equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. Noise from the busy Riccarton road wasn't a problem, due to the double glazing. A lovely place to stay for a very reasonable price.

Handy to the University, Westfield Mall and Addington, the location is a real plus. And it's just a short drive to the central city. Although Riccarton Road is busy, the rooms are surprisingly quiet thanks to double glazing. The entrance is just around the corner off a side street which makes getting in and out easier than having to negotiate the traffic on the main road. There is plenty of free off street parking available. Real Southern hospitality is extended by the staff, they are genuinely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The one bedroom unit is ideal for a family, with 2 single beds in the separate bedroom and a queen in the main living area. The small kitchen is more than adequate. This motel is clean and comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again next time I'm in Christchurch

In spite of its busy Riccarton Road location, the double glazing at the Apollo provides a quiet and restful experience. The owners and staff are attentive and friendly, the unit was clean, comfortable and well equipped, there's a genuine green commitment to recycling and energy saving, and the Apollo is centrally located and really convenient. I've stayed here before, and will do so again.
