“Fantastic lamb!”
Reviewed January 10, 2014 via mobile

The meat is so tender and succulent, it falls off the bone. A regular treat as far as we are concerned

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

This may just be a "hole in the wall" type of food vendor, but what amazing value for money! The lamb was melt in your mouth delicious, a hearty and filling take home meal for 2. We will definitely be making this a regular occurance now.

“Pedros Sold Out on Us”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

We contacted Pedro's House of Lamb prior to travelling to ensure that we would be able to get a meal on the day we arrived in Christchurch as we had read the reviews on Trip Advisor. It was raining in the afternoon and we walked from out hotel to find the place appeared not open as nobody was at the window even though the window was open and we called out. This was around 5pm Christchurch time, so we went next door to the pub for two drinks thinking that someone would be there soon and by the time we got back down to Pedros (which is a diner in the car park of a service station) they were closed. Window Shut!!! When we asked the people in neighbouring businesses they said that they would have already sold out for the day and that is why they are closed. We were a little angry as we had already prearranged to eat there at around 7pm but actually turned up early at 5pm and still could not get service. So while we cannot comment on the taste of the food which we will probably have to wait until next time to taste we can mention that the booking service is lousy.

“Amazing food - a must do”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

You know its a must do when total strangers (locals) walking past you on the street tell you how amazing the food is and ask if we are enjoying your dinner.

We arrived in Christchurch late afternoon and thought we would go here before our movie (new Hobbit release). Not having a clue what to expect, its a food van, no seating and take away only - I only wish we were better prepared.

The part owner serving us was friendly and talkative and the food was amazing, so well cooked. The meat fell away from the bone with little effort and while using a plastic fork. Thats how tender it was and I generally do not eat lamb but if all lamb tasted like this, I would be eating it.

While we were there, locals were driving up, buying boxes of food and leaving - im not at all surprised.

My advise if you visit is, get some breadrolls first, get your food and walk a few blocks down the street to the park to sit and enjoy.

I only wish we had time to visit twice.
