I don't usually leave reviews (and I am a Four Seasons type of girl), but I was very impressed with the charm and the hospitality of Eliza's Manor. First off, the establishment is beautiful, extremely well maintained in the Victorian style, the rooms are large, well appointed, and very clean (usually not the case for older properties), plus the place is ideally located for exploring Christchurch (walking distance to all the attractions). However, what distinguishes this establishment, is the hospitality and the friendly service of the mangers (owners?). They served breakfast earlier than normal to accommodate us (we had an early flight), my mother and I were gifted two adorable teddy bears upon departure (which was a very charming touch), and when we forgot a blouse at the establishment, the manager lady contacted us and SHIPPED it to us within a week. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Christchurch area.

Room Tip: Nr 4 and nr 7 are large beautiful rooms!

This boutique hotel is ideally located for exploring Christchurch and is a short drive from the airport. Easy walking distance to the Botanical gardens and the city centre. The hotel has been furnished in a classic late Victorian style. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice of cooked and continental fare. The hosts, Ann and Harold were very friendly and could not have been more helpful.

It is an amazing hotel, very unique and friendly. Ann is a so nice, making us feel at home. We really enjoyed our staying at this place and will come back to stay here again if we come to visit Christchurch in the future.

We liked our stay at Eliza's and really enjoyed seeing the Teddy Bear collection upstairs that reminded us of a place in vermont,US before. We stayed in the servants room which was nice because it had it's own exit to the garden area and separate from the other rooms on the second floor. Although for the price (one of the more expensive we paid for in NZ) we really would like to have a small fridge in our room and the bed and comforter need to be updated pretty bad. The stairwell to our room was hard to fit our luggage up but the bathroom was really nice and modern. We found it very easy to walk to the downtown area and gardens fairly easy so there was no need to drive once we were there. We also really liked the chocolate teddy bears and anzac cookies in the room. A nice touch.

Room Tip: We liked the servants room except for the lack of fridge.

We stayed for only one night in this lovely b&b in the city. Thank you very much to Ann and Harold for the warm welcome and excellent tips on things to do and see in Christchurch. The house and rooms are very charming. Breakfast is a feast!

We spent one night here upon arrival at Christchurch. Ann is very friendly and was incredibly generous with her time and effort in helping us locate an item we left on the plane. We had no phone and sporadic wifi throughout our trip and she was tenacious on our behalf! Great hotel, as well.
