Ann and Harold are the most hospitable couple. The rooms are beautiful. The breakfast was prepared early in order to accommodate our schedule. The room was immaculate and beautifully decorated. There were delicious cookies and chocolate waiting for us in our room. If you are planning a visit to Christchurch is this the place to stay!

Thanks Anne for hosting us again, good to see you are up and running again. The manor must be one of the safest accommodations around Christchurch now.
Look forward to staying next time we are in Christchurch, great location and easy parking.

Ann and Harold are wonderful along with their staff! Breakfast is totally worth the entire stay! They are so helpful with ideas of what to do and are ready with a map for out-of-towners. Anzac biscuits are waiting next to your tea tray upon your arrival and the heat is already turned on (if it's winter). I feels like home.
So fun. Pick Eliza's. You won't regret it!!!

Room Tip: Any room in this house is awesome.

It was so great staying here! The place has character, breakfast is delicious (we could pick the time), people are so helpful! When we were stuck inside with the rain one of the staff offered to take us by car to the center - they were so nice! The place is filled with teddies and speaks to the child in all of us. I was literally dragging my feet when we had to leave. They were so sweet they even gave us parting gifts! The cutest teddy ever, a pen and a notepad - they make you feel like you're a friend of theirs or part of the family. Definitely the place to stay if you are in Christchurch - it's so close to the centre it's within walking distance and believe me, a walk in Christchurch is a wonderful experience. We got lost once and one of the people we asked for directions was so helpful that she wanted to come with us to make sure we did not get lost again. Such a wonderful place. The memory brings tears to my eyes. I hope we will be able to revisit in the future. I have stayed in a ton of hotels but this, this one beats them all... Amazing - thank you so much!

Room Tip: The bigger rooms are wonderful as they have a bath instead of a shower - slightly more expensive but...

I've been lucky to stay at some flash places over the years.....5 star spa resorts in Thailand, funky boutique hotels in West Hollywood, El Questro Homestead & Silky Oaks Lodge with their 5 eco stars on parade......but this place, for all it's simplicity and old world charm, is right up there. Made me feel like I was a character in an Enid Blyton or CS Lewis novel. The breakfast was hearty with lashings of old english ambience. And as others have mentioned, Ann is the star of the show making you feel so comfortable and giving great tips about south island destinations. Worth a couple of nights? You bet.

It's a very nicely decorated house just ten minutes away from Chritchurch downtown on foot. Ann wants to make you feel at home. The room is really big, with a bow window and the bathroom is modern. Yummy cookies are waiting for you in the room!! Very healthy and varied breakfast!!!

I returned in April to Christchurch for the first time in eighteen months . Ann and Harold proudly showed me around their fine heritage property. I lucked in with a local dance group were performing in one of the lounges which was a wonderful bonus.
My room was well appointed with more than I needed including Anzac biscuits.
breakfast was freshly prepared and served with the warmth of our hosts nothing was to much for either Harold or Ann and our relationship as with all their guests is more like of extended family or old friends as compared to the cool profession manner that you receive in five star hotel

Room Tip: book early to advoid disappointment
