If you want to get to feel the real Christchurch taste and true Kiwi hospitability, this is the place to stay in. Located at the heart of historical centre, in an old cute house, the place gets better the more you discover it. And is all worth it!

We spent 3 nights in a King room. Very spacious room, beautifully decorated with quality furniture and fittings. Particularly comfortable king bed. It was cold and wet while we were there so it was wonderful to have our own heat pump and the whole house was always warm and cosy. Breakfasts were simple but adequate, not quite as extensive as other B&Bs we've stayed at. It is fairly pricey but we were prepared to pay for a bit of luxury - we did feel though that there could have been a few more "little extras" for the price. Our bedroom windows looked straight across to a very close office building with large windows which meant we unfortunately had to have our drapes closed for privacy most of the time - I like windows clear and uncluttered with extra coverings but something is needed here. However, all in all, a beautiful house, very comfortable room, great central location and we would definitely recommend to others.

I stayed here at the guesthouse on business for a couple of nights. I was able to book one of the smaller rooms when I booked online, which was perfect for my needs - clean and warm with a good quality bathroom. I particularly liked the Ecospa products in the bathroom which appear to be good quality. When I stayed, it was the middle of winter with some cold mornings but the room heater was sufficient to keep things comfortable.

Breakfast was my perfect combo - fresh fruit salad and eggs benedict, yum! There are other cooked items on the menu and I didn't try the cereals but I would rate the breakfast highly.

Location wise, this is great - close to Hagley Park and on the bus routes, yet only 5 mins to the heart of the CBD. Des is a good host, friendly, efficient and customer-focussed.

I didn't use the free wireless but this would be a bonus for anyone needing it!

I'm a light sleeper, so being in a street-facing ground floor room did mean I woke up early but generally traffic noise is not a bother.

Overall, very pleased with the overall experience.

Traveled with my partner and 2 older children. Stayed overnight at the Grange. A luxury boutique B&B in an beautiful 2 storey older house. We were warmly greeted by the lovely
Erin. The Grange offers rooms with old style character. Rooms are luxurious but maintain a homely character. Rooms were clean and cosy. The Grange is extremely well located within a couple minutes walk to the 'New Start' Container Precinct ( a collection of trendy shops housed in containers offering a great selection of arts and crafts, clothing and cafes. Erin recommended Fiddlesticks Restaurant and Bar located not far from The Grange. Try the superb gourmet Lamb Roast Sandwiches. Breakfast at The Grange was a delight to start the day off. Would stay at The Grange again.

Room Tip: Most rooms are upstairs. If you have difficulty with stairs, ask for a downstairs room.

I've stayed in the motel rooms twice now and am still very happy with the accommodation. The rooms have been updated since my first stay in 2010 and are very modern and comfortable. Des very kindly carried my suitcase to the first floor room. There are a lot of re-building works going on in Christchurch and The Grange is close enough to the city centre to watch the re-birth of Christchurch, yet far enough away that my sleep in was not disturbed. Looking forward to staying there again when next visiting Christchurch.

The Grange B&B is such a lovely place to stay. The room was quaint, beautifully furnished, clean, comfortable, warm and quite a large size (stayed in a King room).
The owners were very welcoming and helpful. They recommended a few places where we could eat in the area, as many places are not open after the earthquake.
Breakfast was included and a good range of cold and cooked breakfast.
I would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly staff, They turned heater on and checked me in, so I didn't have to rush back from the hospital. Very close to Hospital. At the end of June there were builders, building the 1st floor units.

Room Tip: Building started on the bottom motel units at 7.30 am (road works rebuild started at 6.50am). Parkin...
