Stayed here as opposed to traditional motor lodge. Great reception, excellent breakfast and comfortable rooms. Free wifi so checking e-mails easy - major hotels could learn a lesson! A really comfortable welcoming stay that I would highly recommend

It's location is both a positive and a negative as being close to the city cente means close to the red zone. There are now only a few restaurants in the area but those that are close are very good. Only a short walk to the Canterbury Museum, park/garden and iSITE but almost 30 minutes to the supermarket.
Outside the unit there was an outdoor sitting area which was a pleasant spot to have an evening drink. The unit had a separate lounge/kitchenette with hotplates and microwave. Very clean but an extremely compact toilet/handbasin with a seperate shower room across the hall.
One morning we treated ourselves to breakfast in the dining room where there was the choice of either continental or full cooked breakfast. It was very good and a great start to the day.

We stayed at the Grange for three nights in february and what a pleasure it was. Our host and his staff were truly lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was beautifully furnished and maintained, a great mix of modern with just enough of the old to match the age of the home.
Beautifully clean throughout and SO quiet at night, a joy to the ears, peace and quiet at night.
Our breakfast in the morning, just gorgeous
We would definitely recommend the Grange to anyone and will stay again when we are next in Christchurch.

We had a great stay albeit a quick one. The staff were attentive and helpful. All amenities were as advertised. We had a comfy double bed, a little kitchenette, and private bathroom. Internet access was readily available and worked well. Breakfast was a nice treat with cereals, fruit and toast. We loved the location. It was easy to walk to different areas of town.

Fabulous place in a great location. Had a motel room out back from the main building and it was everything we could've wanted - separate living room, kitchenette to make dinner and a patio outside to sit at and enjoy. Great location within walking distance of the park and CBD. Only "complaints", although hard to come up with anything, was that the bathrooms were tiny (separate shower stall which was OK) and then vanity bathroom with tiny sink that spilt over...again, nitpicking as there isn't anything else I could recommend for improvement. I'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
