We were moved out of a cheaper motel down the road because it was filthy. After that experience it was wonderful to be able to find a comfortable bed with clean sheets and towels. I was in a room on the top floor which was newly carpeted.Wifi was free and there didn't seem to be a limit on it. The staff were friendly. The coffee was not replaced after use but the shampoo and conditioner were. I am sure I could have had more coffee had I asked. The location was handy for the park. The restaurant attached makes desserts to die for. I'm not sure what was paid for the room because it was booked through work but I think it was around $150. I'd be more than happy to stay there again.

I stayed two nights on business. My room was upstairs, and at the back of the block, so it was very peaceful and quiet. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff member on reception was really friendly and helpful, and a simple continental breakfast tray was provided for a very reasonable price. The restaurant Strawberry Fare on the same property is a separate business, but I had a good meal there. Overall, I was very satisfied, and would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the rear of the complex may be a little quieter than those at the front.

We stayed three nights here in Oct 2012, and to be quite honest, it wasn't worth the money. We paid $160NZ per night. One of the reception staff was sullen, watch out for the elderly one with glasses! The toilet paper and sugar were never replaced, the "double" bed was big enough for a child, I'm 6' 1" and my feet stuck out the bottom of it. The shower head came to chest height so I had to crouch to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. I wouldn't recommend this hotel or stay there again, there's better and cheaper hotels out there.

I'll start with saying I only paid NZD$99 night, hard to get city edge accom at that rate.

I was allocated room 8, at the back of the block on the ground. The room was showing its age but was very neat and clean and the bed excellent. I got a kitchette with the basic 2 hob electric cooker.

My reason for not rating well was due to the age of the batroom and kitchen, both need a re do, the hot water came with a warning about burning yoursellf du to high pressure, surely this is dangerous, the inability to open windows except in the bathroom or the giant window near the patio. Plus the light switches are across the room, not good in the dark.

IMVHO, the room needs a complete makeover or turned to other use, make a family room of next door?

Rooms were clean, but quite dated and not overly well appointed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall, the hotel offered good value for money for an overnight stay and is situated in a convenient location.

The hotel is in convenient location and clean. The staff is very helpful. It is next to Hagley park and thus the CBD.There are a lot of good restaurant around. There is no porter but plenty of parking. There is no restaurant on site.Price is reasonable.

Room Tip: There is no porter,so room at lower follr is preferred.
