Very comfortable room, clean and well presented. Bed was oh so comfy - best ever.
The owners and staff were pleasant and helpful.
Good location, easy walk to city centre and local cafes and restaurants.

It was a quick stop over in Christchurch this time, so we decided to try the Toscana Motor Lodge. The location was ok, not that far away from the city, 15min walk, and excellent if you had to get to the airport. Parking was free. Check in was quick - hosts were very efficient and friendly. The room was a "queen studio" on the ground floor - it was large enough for two people and their luggage (queen size bad, flat screen TV), it had a kitchenette cleverly hidden away, with a fridge and microwave, desk with a chair and bathroom with a shower and small mirror. Basic toiletries were provided, but there was no shelf or cupboard to put any of our things on. We were given a voucher for free WIFi, but it was only valid for 6 hours of browsing. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable.

Excellent lodge with all the essential services you need. Free parking is available on-site and you get free internet access for multiple devices. A lot of restaurants and bars are close by. Christchurch has been hit a an earthquake in 2011 so there are limited services in the area. They are trying to rebuild as quickly s possible but you still see the effect on this. This means that there is limited activity in town and sometimes you feel that you walking in a sort of a ghost town. I personally found it very impressing to be here and have respect for the people who are still trying to make the best out of it. including the owners of the excellent lodge.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the first floor. The rooms below are directly connected to the parking place.

Grant and Vivienne (hosts) made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. They were very informative about Canterbury, Christchurch and where to eat and drink. Vivienne even offered to drive us to the pub so we did not have to drink and drive. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms extremely well kept, neat and clean. The spa baths are deep and very relaxing. There is free wi-fi in six hour blocks which is ample for checking emails and skype. If you run out just go and ask for some more. The motel is well kept overall and close to the Carlton Inn and several nearby restaurants. I can honestly recommend this motor lodge if you are plan to stay in Christchurch for one night or five nights like we did. Our preferred motor lodge when we go back in 2015.

Room Tip: Get a room on the ground floor as it is easy to park your car and quickly get in and out of the weat...

We booked through the internet. On arrival was shown the local area and areas that we could get a meal, was offered vouchers for local attractions.
If you want a dream sleep this is the place to go! The beds are so nicely made up and presentation is the best! Having your room cleaned and beds re-made was a great addition to being on holiday. Being on a busy road there was no noise when in the unit. Every think is there if you want to cook a meal. Shower was a dream, heaps of water pressure. No noise from other units at night, peaceful after a busy day out!
Would recommend.

Very good all round, I was going to dock them a mark for the below average water flow in the shower but they earned it back with descent complementary plunger coffee and cookies in the room and a well above average bed. You don't see that so often these days.
