The hotel is right beside the airport, and their is a convenient free shuttle bus that runs to the hotel. We paid $155 NZ for a room that had seen far better days. As has been said before this place is very tired, but the beds had certainly seen better days. I woke up with a sore back. Only stay here if you have to be at the airport early and there is no other option

Landed at 2330 and so needed a hotel close by... and its certainly close. We actually rented a car for the week and the hotel was about 200metres away. Comfortable rooms. Was able to have a drink served from behind the reception desk and nighttime food menu that was still in its microwave carton. Still, we stayed for convenience it was fine for that.

Paid $180 to get a superior room, but wasn't that great anyway. Room is small, dark, and dank, the bed was uncomfortable, finishings were dated, the mini bar didn't have anything in it. Limited room service meals, check in staff not welcoming or particularly friendly. Shuttle bus driver was hanging around, to the point of being annoying. Is not worth $180 or even $100.

This hotel was really below average. We stayed just one night and even that one night was really awful. Except for the front desk and the concierge, who were really great and very very helpful. The only advantage is a free airport drop service every 15 minutes.

We chose this hotel as it was next to the airport and our flight was getting in quite late. We were able to get a free shuttle bus to it, although we could have walked it was so near! We checked in and went straight to bed and were up and out quite early the next morning too so didn't see a lot of the place. However, it was clean and tidy with friendly staff. We had breakfast in the morning which was extra. Overall it's close to the airport and a decent rate.

This was our last night in a three week tour of Australia and NZ. It was the only place that was unpleasant. The building is older, the dining room lacks any charm, and there is no air conditioning. But those were not the problems. The problems were direct results of policies that appeared to have been imposed by MBA's trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out of each traveler.

On check in, you are greeted by a big sign saying CHECK OUT IS AT 10 AM. And another that offers late check out for $30, along with breakfast and two drinks. Something of a scam, but our flight was at 3 PM, so late check out sounded smart and we signed up.

At the restaurant, I asked if the drinks coupons could be applied to dinner. No problem, he said. When I left after paying the bill (at a cash register in the hall!) I asked to be sure that we were not charged for the drinks.

Next morning, I learned that the breakfast was only for one person, we would have to pay (a lot) for the second one). They probably figured on that.

Then, I asked about checking out at 1 PM. "NO", the receptionist said, "you must check out by noon" Even though we paid extra for late check out! Plenty of open rooms, so I asked if there might be some leeway. I was told "If you are still there after noon there will be an extra charge" So, we came back to check out at noon. But their computer was down. But they could print a copy of the bill. It had charges for the drinks on it!

I felt bad for the staff at this place. It seems obvious that someone (American MBAs?) put rigid, thoughtless graceless policies in place to get a few extra dollars from guests. Staff seem to have no leeway to do a good job. There are so many wonderful places to stay in NZ. This is not one of them.

Stayed here to catch a red eye flight out. Standard hotel with no frills. It does what it says on the tin. Clean, comfortable, adequate. They have a free shuttle to and from the airport which is close. On arrival we had an hours wait despite 3 phone calls, however annoying though that was communications can break down when us humans are involved. If you want one night after a late arrival or you are flying out early this is the hotel for you.
