Met by shuttle though I arrived at an ungodly, late hour. Old-world no fuss feel to the finishings in the room, comfortable beds and retro loos. But the express breakfast was fab - cheap, make your own espresso and sit in the sun looking out on the pool. Accidentally left brand new jar of favourite face cream, and when I called - they had stored it for me. Remarkable service. Brilliant place to stay if you are between flights.

Room Tip: Ask for one that gives you a view of the pool.

I will never step foot to his hotel again. The receptionist guy named Philip (indian guy) is a very rude man. The booking system is not sufficient and not enough information is provided, therefore the mistake was made. We have booked the room but ended up did not get the room because it was released and the booking manager did not bother to request for the credit card detail. Mr.Philip was trying to blame all faults to customer without proper apology.....

Very bad service and very disappointed that great country like New Zealand could have this such bad hotel.

Won't be going back - the walls are so thin we woke up nearly every hour. The interior is sad, the bed is uncomfortable, and the service is minimal. To their credit, they pick you up at the airport, and the room was clean.

This hotel is very dated. Our room had a very large king bed, but it was weird that there was no bed side table on one side and a big open space where one kinda should be. The outside area looks lovely tho.

Its perfect for a stop over as its so close to the airport but i would only stay there one night.

This hotel is very handy for the airport and does have a free transfer to the airport but that is the only good thing it has going for it.
The customer service is terrible. Check out is ten o'clock. Which to me is a ridiculous check out time for a hotel. we recieved a call at 10.05 and I said we were just finishing up and would be out in 15 minutes, i was told this was fine. We had a knock to the door not 5 minutes after asking us were we ready to leave. We were out of the room by 10.15 am and i still felt like we were imposing on them.
The hotel has two computers for guest use with a reasonable charge but there is always a queue, this is due to (in my opinion) the outrageous price for wifi. There is only a day rate for access to the wifi and as i was only in the hotel for less than 15 hours i didn't want to pay for the day but i was told there was no other option.
The food in the restaurant was ok but we were left a long time before we got it.
Overall i had much better service in the hostels i staid in, and for a much better price.
I really feel they are taking advantage of the fact that there is currently a accomondation crisis in Christchurch since the earthquake.

Good: close to airport, had a bed it in
Bad: filthy, loud, poor customer service, pay for internet

After driving around all afternoon trying to find a place to stay (our fault, we didn't plan ahead) we finally found an open room at this place so we grabbed it. In retrospect I almost wish we would have slept in the car. The receptionist didn't point out the room had two twin beds (rather than a queen/king) until after we started the registration. We decided to move the beds together and I don't think anyone had ever cleaned under them in the life of the hotel. The furniture was old, scratched, beat-up and looked like it was from the 70s. The walls were thin and you could hear conversations of people in them as well as the hallways. I'm just glad we didn't get a stairwell room.

We had a late flight in and early flight out so decided to stay at the Sudima as it is close to the airport and has a free shuttle. Unfortunately our room was right at the top of the stairs and was therefore really noisey. We could here everyones converstion as they walked up/down the stairwell. The bed it self was knackered and had 2 springs ( on on each side) poking through so spent the six hours trying to dodge these. In addition the room had internal high pressure water pipes running through the walls. The noise of water under pressure was really loud. $155 to get no sleep was disapointing. This is the second time i have stayed here and the first stay was good so maybe it all depends on where your room is.

Room Tip: Don't end up in room 725!!
