“Classic museum - must visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2013

Exhibits to interest the whole family, irrespective of age or interests.
Even residents of Bluff catered for with the acquisition of the paua house. If the hands on virtual game-show of Te Papa is not for you, then this museum will be.

“Great place to spend a couple of hours”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

Christchurch Street was a hit with the bicycle and the horse that children can actually hop on. Antarctic display was really interesting and informative. Kids interactive area was great.

“Great museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2013

We had a great afternoon having lunch in the cafe and wandering through the many and varied exhibits. A great way to take in some of the history of the region and of the exploration of Antarctica.

A wide variety of displays. Something for everyone. I would rate this as one of the best medium size museums in NZ.

“A fun learning experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

I recently revisited the Museum while showing a couple of young UK tourists around. We all enjoyed it and I found it easy to give my visitors a quick history of New Zealand and Canterbury. Of course the iconic Paua House was a highlight, as were the birds and the Maori history.
