This motel offered excellent service, from the check in on through to check out. One of those places where you truly enjoy doing business with them. The room had an upstairs bedroom, plenty of room, clean, nice kitchenette, well, you get the idea.

We stayed at this Motel on days13 & 14 of our 25 day tour of NZ. We then came back for our last night in New Zealand before flying back to UK. Penny & Brian made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and they seemed to know everthing about Christchurch and surrouding area. The Motel complex is attractive with rooms that are clean & comfortable. We stayed in a ground floor Studio unit which gave us ample room with kitchen facilities and the en-suite had a great shower. All the good things have already been said about this Motel by other reviews - Belive Them.
If you are going to stay here & like Thai food, ask Brian about his favourite Thai restaurant.
Likewise if you like cheese ask Penny where to get the best.

The hotel was clean, conveniently located, with all the features and facilities you would expect from such a motel. What made this exceptional was the welcome, helpfulness and friendliness of Brian and Penny, the owners. They could not have been better.
We stayed trwice on our tour and our reception was great on both occasions.
My wife had broken her foot so was not very mobile. On our second stay we had dropped off our car prior to catching our flight home - Brian drove us to a restaurant.

The Camelot is is quirky hotel in terms of style - faux tudor. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the location close the city centre is hard to beat.

While Christchurch has suffered from significant damage due to the earthquakes the service offered by Bryan and Penny at the Camelot has not obviously not dipped from that listed in the many glowing reviews.

I am always cautious when reading reviews - if it is too good to be true - it probably is. In this case that rule fails. Both Bryan and penny were exceptional hosts - helpful to a fault and as friendly as you could ask for.

Would I recommend staying at the Camelot - yes - good location, comfortable rooms and wonderful hosts

We stayed here for just one night. The host were very welcoming – nothing was too much trouble. They advised us which restaurants they recommended.

The room was excellent with lots of space and really quiet. We would have no hesitation coming back to Camelot
