“Immaculate, clean and most impressed”

When you walk into the reception area and have to work out if there is no glass in the windows or if the glass is just so impeccably clean you know its going to be good. Rooms are very well equipped and everything is just right - from the amenities provided to the comfortable large beds. Would puts some 4-5 star hotels to shame. The only issue may be that most rooms are up a flight of stairs so I am unsure how that would be for anybody disabled. Wonderful hosts, very obliging. 100% recommend.

Really reasonable rates by Christchurch's current rates, and a lovely clean hotel room which was well appointed, with nice little extras like plunger coffee, free newspapers in the morning, and very accommodating owners who genuinely try and please.
Not far from the city, currently about an 8 minute walk because of the barricades but would be closer without them, and only a couple of minutes to the beautiful botanic gardens where you can chill out.
Highly recommended, and i would stay here again for sure.

Nice motel with very friendly and helpful staff. Bruce checked us in, provided directions around the neighborhood and even carried up suitcases upstairs. Asked us which brand of milk we wanted + loaned us a US to NZ power adapter.

We booked the Amross based on Tripadvisor. Sue and Bruce were wonderful hosts, giving us an upgrade and providing rides to the bus station. When we had to reroute back to Christchurch, they immediately made the same room available to us. Highly recommended also for its central location.

Imagine a six-lane boulevard and your room is right next to it. Although we had especially asked for a quiet room, our request was unfortunately not granted. The only way to minimise the noise was to keep all the windows closed at all times. The room, dated, was spacious enough and had everything required for cooking a real meal. No A/C. The bathroom was not bad, but the shower was small, with a curtain. Sandy, standing in for the proprietors, was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The rooms further back from Bealey Avenue are quieter

This is an outstanding place to stay. You are greeted by friendly hosts. The rooms are clean and very spacious. Everything is provided and the rooms have added extras to make it very welcoming. They are short of nothing. It is close to everything. Despite being on a busy road it is incredibly quiet. Will definitely be staying here again.

Room Tip: They all look great - although we were on the ground floor.

We had a great time in the 1-bedroom suite. It was very easy to find, and even though it's on a busy road, you don't hear it from the room. It was a short walk to the city center (or as close as you could go). What really stood out for us were the owners. After a 4.6 magnitude earth quake shook the city, they saw us outside our room and later called up to make sure we were okay. We ended up trading stories with them for a good part of the evening and really enjoyed talking to them. They are very friendly and helpful, we can't recommend this place enough! Will definitely stay here again if we're back in Christchurch.
